So why does the newest Jayhawk pronounce his name "ZAH-vee-ay"?
Maybe it's been discussed, and maybe I missed it, but I didn't honestly know that answer until I found this video while surfing yesterday (Skip to the 1:40 mark in the video if you're impatient).
Obviously the video's a bit old (Xavier is not going to Memphis as the video suggest, so let's not start any more rumors), but still it's a nice profile on Xavier to learn a little more about him and his family.
Props to Mike Rigg, who produced the video. Just a few years back, Rigg was a sports anchor alongside Kevin Romary at 6Sports here in Lawrence.

Interesting that he is wearing a KU sweatshirt in the photo that starts the video. Isn't that a photo of him from around the time he was interviewed in the piece?

Love the shot, but what's the word on the kid's defense? I know that HCBS will bang defense into him, but is he "just" a shooter, at least for now? Anyone know? Steals? Assists? Stuff like that?
