KU starting quarterback Carter Stanley on performance against Indiana State

Quarterback Carter Stanley spoke to reporters following KU's 24-17 win over Indiana State Saturday afternoon at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium.

Earlier this week, Stanley found out that he had earned the starting job for the first game under head coach Les Miles. Stanley connected with Daylon Charlot for a 22-yard connection with 2:20 left in the game, which proved to be the game-winning score.

Stanley went 20-for-29 for 241 yards and two touchdowns.

Kansas senior cornerback Hasan Defense spoke to reporters Saturday afternoon at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium.

The Jayhawks, who averaged 2.25 turnovers forced last season, produced a pair of takeaways in the 2019 season opener. Defense recorded a 57-yard interception return for a touchdown with 8:43 left in the first quarter.

Senior safety Jeremiah McCullough also recorded an interception for Kansas, which proved to be a crucial sequence in the second half.

Year 1 of the Les Miles is slated to begin this week.

The new Kansas head coach spoke to reporters Monday afternoon to preview the season opener against Indiana State at 11 a.m. Saturday. KU also released its first depth chart of the 2019 season, and the starting quarterback competition remains up in the air.

The Jayhawks are coming off a 3-9 campaign in 2018.
