KU’s Marcus Garrett on playing point guard in Dotson’s absence

Kansas point guard Marcus Garrett spoke to reporters Thursday afternoon outside the locker room at Allen Fieldhouse.

Garrett talked about playing point guard, who he models his defensive game after and what he thinks of national recognition of his defensive prowess. The Jayhawks (13-3, 3-1 Big 12) are coming off a 66-52 win over Oklahoma.

Kansas travels to Texas on Saturday.

KU head coach Brandon Schneider on undefeated record heading into Big 12 play

Kansas head coach Brandon Schneider spoke to reporters Thursday afternoon in the Allen Fieldhouse media room.

Schneider's squad is now 11-0 on the year entering Big 12 play. It is the team's first undefeated run through nonconference play since the 2005-05 season.

KU will travel to Oklahoma State for the Big 12 opener on Saturday.

Kansas coach Bill Self spoke to reporters Friday afternoon in Allen Fieldhouse.

The Jayhawks are coming off a 56-55 road loss to Villanova last weekend, their second defeat of the 2019-20 campaign. Kansas (9-2) will now travel to Stanford on Sunday for its final game before the start of Big 12 play.

Tipoff is slated for 2 p.m.

Kansas offensive coordinator Brent Dearmon spoke to reporters Wednesday afternoon during the early signing period.

The Jayhawks landed Jalon Daniels, two-star QB from California, on the first day of the three-day early signing period.

"The pocket passer is kind of fading a way in football," Dearmon said. "Jalon's ability to move and create just enamored us."

KU players following 98-57 win over Kansas City

Devon Dotson and David McCormack spoke to reporters following a 98-57 win over Kansas City Saturday night in the Sprint Center.

The Jayhawks outscored the Roos, 55-33, in the second half alone. David McCormack scored a career-high 28 points. Devon Dotson finished with 18 points, while Marcus Garrett added 13 points to help KU notch its ninth win in a row.

Kansas (9-1) travels to Villanova at 11 a.m. Saturday.

Self spoke about KU's next opponent and provided insight on how he views his team at this point in the season. Self was also asked about how well the Jayhawks have done at home as they prepare for their last home of this decade.

Kansas plays host to Milwaukee on Tuesday.
