Kansas junior guard Devonté Graham discusses the importance of Late Night for the basketball program, especially in terms of recruiting.
While fans pack Allen Fieldhouse year after year for the preseason show to see skits, dancing and a little bit of basketball, Graham says a lot of the players’ focus on these weekends goes behind the scenes in showing recruits around and selling them on KU.

Devonté Graham: Season changed for better with Landen Lucas becoming starter
Kansas sophomore guard Devonté Graham explains how the Jayhawks’ season changed for the better when he and the team’s other three regular starters suggested Landen Lucas should start inside.
With Lucas, Graham, Frank Mason III, Perry Ellis and Wayne Selden Jr. as KU’s starting five, the Jayhawks are 12-1, and have won 11 straight games.
Devonté Graham seeking out more 3-pointers
Kansas sophomore guard Devonté Graham recalls how Oklahoma seemed to hit lots of defended shots in the first meeting between the Jayhawks and Sooners.
As for Graham, who has made 40 of 94 from 3-point range this season, the point guard says he is actively looking more for long-range openings in his second season.
KU coach Bill Self “gets on all of us if you pass up an open shot” in practice, Graham adds.
