KU center Udoka Azubuike on goals for upcoming season

Udoka Azubuike spoke to reporters Wednesday afternoon during KU's annual media day.

Azubuike spoke about the importance of staying healthy for the 2019-20 season.

Although the official roster still lists him at 7 feet tall and 270 pounds, the word around the program is that Azubuike has dropped some serious weight this offseason.

KU head coach Bill Self on expectations for upcoming season at media day

Kansas head coach Bill Self spoke to reporters Wednesday afternoon at Allen Fieldhouse during the men's basketball media day.

"I think the pieces are there for us to have a big year," Self said.

Self also provided more insight on recent allegations by the NCAA, and how that might impact the team entering the 2019-20 campaign.

Bill Self discusses Late Night and an unexpected turn in Snoop’s performance

Kansas basketball coach Bill Self said after Late Night in the Phog Friday that headliner Snoop Dogg’s performance, which included pole dancing and a gun that shot out money, wasn’t what he expected.

“That’s not the direction that anybody at the school would want that to go at all,” Self said, “regardless of the entertainment it provided many.

“It was still not the right way to provide the entertainment,” added Self, who said he only stayed for a couple songs because he wasn’t feeling well.

Sherron Collins’ half court shot at Late Night wins money for students

Former Kansas basketball All-American Sherron Collins was called onto the court at Allen Fieldhouse during the team's Late Night in the Phog festivities by head coach Bill Self.

Collins was given warmup shot before trying to make a shot from mid-court to win $5,000 apiece for a pair of KU students.

After missing his warmup attempt, Collins banked in the money shot, leading to him getting mobbed by the current KU basketball team.

Hakeem Adeniji on how KU plans to respond from TCU loss

The Jayhawks suffered a 51-14 loss to TCU this past weekend in their first Big 12 road game of the season.

Marcus Garrett on being KU’s backup PG this season

Marcus Garrett spoke to reporters Thursday night following KU's first practice of the season.

Garrett admitted that he will get some action as KU's backup point guard this season, which will be when sophomore Devon Dotson needs some rest. Garrett, who has played 1-4 in his career, will likely play 1-3 this year.

The Jayhawks will host their annual Late Night in the Phog next Friday.

Agbaji believes the team has made strides this offseason after KU fell to Auburn in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
