Kansas basketball coach Bill Self complimented freshman guard Quentin Grimes for his play on both ends of the floor following the Jayhawks’ Saturday win at Oklahoma State.

“I thought he played well late, but I thought he played well the entire game,” Self said.

Grimes shot 4 for 7 on 3-pointers, dished 3 assists and scored 17 points as KU stayed alive in the Big 12 title race.

So we live another day. This victory was better than it looks, because OK St has put two great shooting games together. They are a step slow, but they are fantastic shooters. The other big thing for us was McGriff fouling out.

Everybody contributed, and this is second game in a row where Q has played up to his potential. Defense and offense he made a difference. Ochai managed to make some plays and Marcus gave us some additional possessions that were big.

We played decent defense in the second half, and we never quit, it would have been easy for the team to fold, but they hung.

Agreed. Amazing pull-up jumpers. I wish we had a bunch that can shoot lots of those jumpers. Dziagwa was a great shooter. But we had Walters on check the whole day, that's the difference. Otherwise, they could've won, easily.
