Bill Self announces Lightfoot will replace Vick in starting lineup

After an 84-79 home loss to Oklahoma State last weekend, Kansas basketball coach Bill Self announced Monday that he was going to change the starting lineup going forward with Mitch Lightfoot replacing Lagerald Vick.

"Mitch certainly deserves the opportunity to play," Self said. "He, Svi (Mykhailiuk) and Devonte' (Graham) try harder than anybody else so we're going to get him out there."

Good move. Hope this motivates Vick....

Fact is, its worth a shot. If Vick is not playing defense, or rebounding, has no moves to basket, then why should he be starting. At least Newman brings something, and if he gets after the rebounding like he can, and Mitch adds to the rebounds, then we might be ok.

Vick seems to not be slumping, but rather in a funk. Lost his girlfriend, or significant other, his best friend is deathly ill, that kind of funk.

Point is, until he gets through it, he is not doing us any good starting. He was always effective before coming off the bench, maybe he can do it again.
