Devonte’ Graham talks about KU’s 14th straight Big 12 title

LUBBOCK, Texas — Devonte’ Graham knew the Jayhawks had a piece of history on the line. Yet asked about the accomplishment, Graham did what so many others have done.

He went straight to the opposite.

“We didn’t want to be the team to end the streak,” the senior guard said following KU’s 74-72 win in Lubbock.

Graham, who led KU to the win with a 26-point performance, maintained his confidence in his team to win the conference throughout the season.

After finally clinching a share of the league for the 14th straight year — the Jayhawks surpassed UCLA’s streak for most consecutive conference titles — Graham tried to put into words what exactly it all meant.

“I’m just a small part of it,” Graham said, looking over at teammate Svi Mykhailiuk and smiling. “It’s just being a part of history. Me and my boy are part of it.”

you could tell how bad Devonte wanted to win the big12. it was fun to watch. As Self said, i'm proud of him and Svi. Svi may not be the prettiest when he puts it on the floor but his and Devonte's improvement year over has just been a joy and what college basketball is about.
