The Kansas football team held its first open practice of the 2018 preseason camp on Saturday, Aug. 4 at the University of Kansas.

It marked the first chance to see true freshmen cornerback Corione Harris (No. 2) and running back Pooka Williams (No. 1) in action. In addition, quarterbacks Carter Stanley, Peyton Bender and Miles Kendrick remain in a competition for the starting job.

The Jayhawks are coming off an 1-11 campaign in 2017. This will be David Beaty’s fourth season as the head football coach at Kansas, which officially kicks off on Sept. 1 with a home meeting against Nicholls State.
