Fresh off of their blowout win over Iowa State on Monday night, the Kansas men's basketball coaching staff hit the road on Tuesday to watch some top recruiting targets.
Head coach Bill Self was in Tennessee to see Class of 2021 power forward Kennedy Chandler before heading to Tulsa, Okla., to see 2020 KU signee Bryce Thompson on his senior night at Booker T. Washington High. Thompson scored 24 points in the win, with Self watching from the stands.
Assistant coach Norm Roberts made the short trip north to Omaha, Neb., to watch two top Kansas targets in action against one another, Class of 2021 point guard Hunter Sallis and Class of 2020 shooting guard Donovan Williams.
With four signees already inked in the 2020 class, most of KU's recruiting efforts of late have been spent on future classes, with the 2021 and 2022 crews taking priority. But Kansas continues to look around at a couple of players in the 2020 class, including Williams, in case the opportunity to add another player for next season presents itself.
Late Night in the Phog is always one of the best times of year to bring top recruits from around the nation in for a visit.
Some of the top prospects in the country, from multiple classes, get to see nearly everything that makes Kansas basketball what it is in just a few short hours. They also get to see the spectacle of fan adoration, a game-night feel and the anticipation of another season set against a night of music, skits, lights and dancing.
This year's Late Night in the Phog is lining up to be one of the best as the Jayhawks appear primed for another run to the Final Four and are expected to enter the 2019-20 season ranked among the top two or three teams in the country.
With that in mind, here is a look at the recruits scheduled to be at Late Night in the Phog on Friday.
