2020 star will be at Late Night in the Phog
Class of 2020 center N'faly Dante and a number of his Sunrise Christian teammates will be inside Allen Fieldhouse on Sept. 28 for KU's annual Late Night in the Phog, Sunrise Christian Head Coach Luke Barnwell told KUsports.com.
Kansas assistant coach Kurtis Townsend was in Bel Aire this Tuesday to watch Dante and his Sunrise teammates workout.
The 6-foot-10, 225-pound Dante is currently ranked No. 7 overall in the 2020 class by Rivals.com and has been on KU's radar for a long time.
Viewed as one of the best — if not the best — big men in the entire class, Dante is a force around the rim on both offense and defense and brings good athleticism and passion to the floor along with a physical presence that is unmatched by most players he faces.
He spent the summer playing for MOKAN Elite, with current KU commitment Christian Braun, and has been to Lawrence more than a handful of times for one reason or another during his prep career.
It's far too early to even make a guess at how Dante's recruitment will play out, but KU appears to be in the hunt and has made the big man a priority in the 2020 class thus far. A few programs worth keeping an eye on as KU's biggest competitors to date in the quest to land the Sunrise center include: Kentucky, LSU, Oregon, St. John's, Oklahoma State, Iowa State and others.
