1 - Devonte’ Graham: Outplayed Oklahoma’s Trae Young in more ways than simply outscoring him, 23-13. Graham made 5 of 11 3-pointers and had seven assists, five rebounds, two steals and two turnovers. In leading KU to a 20-4 advantage, Graham totaled nine points, two rebounds, two assists and a steal. Has just one game left in Allen Fieldhouse and is going out in style.
2 - Udoka Azubuike: Drew big praise from coach Bill Self for the way he guarded ball screens. Totaled 10 points, eight rebounds, three blocked shots and three steals. He’s turning into a huge force at both ends.
3 - Malik Newman: Had 20 points, five assists and two steals and looked good handling the ball in transition. Made 4 of 6 3-pointers and 7 of 11 field goals. He’s played with more intensity of late.
4 - Svi Mykhailiuk: Broke his shooting slump in a big way, hitting 4 of 7 3-pointers and finished with 16 points, even rebounds, four assists and a steal and didn’t have any turnovers.
5 - Lagerald Vick: He’s back. Made 3 of 4 3-pointers and finished with 17 points, six rebounds and four assists.
6 - Silvio De Sousa: In nine games before tonight: 22 minutes, five points, seven rebounds, eight personal fouls, six turnovers, zero assists. In 13 minutes in this game: 10 points, six rebounds, one assist, one turnover. Kansas not only won a game, it added a player to the rotation.
7 - Marcus Garrett: His two points came on a put-back, which is a real strength of his. Also had two rebounds and played well defensively in 14 minutes.
8 - Mitch Lightfoot: Blocked three shots in a first-half span of 47 seconds. Other than that, found himself out of position and allowed offensive rebounds and struggled some defensively. Scored four points in seven minutes, but did not get a rebound.
9 - Sam Cunliffe: Showed his athleticism by driving and open lane and throwing down a dunk. Also had a turnover and steal in two minutes.

1 - Udoka Azubuike: Blocked shots, dunks, a lefty hook shot, free throws. That’s right, free throws. He made 7 of 10 from the line and 7 of 8 from the field. Azubuike totaled 21 points, five rebounds, three blocked shots (a big one late) and two steals (a big one late).
2 - Devonte’ Graham: Took just six shots from the field and scored 15 points to go with seven assists and just two turnovers in, you guessed it, 40 minutes. Made 2 of 5 3-pointers and 9 of 10 free throws.
3 - Svi Mykhailiuk: Steal that he took in for a dunk was huge, cutting a lead that had been 10 points to six, 50-44. It was one of his three steals and he also had four assists and just one turnover.
4 - Malik Newman: Came on strong late and hit what was biggest shot of the game, a 3 from the right corner in transition that tied it, 66-66, with 2:13 left.
5 - Lagerald Vick: Strong first half, when he scored 10 of his 13 points to go with five rebounds. Didn’t have an assist, steal or blocked shot, but also didn’t turn it over.
6 - Marcus Garrett: Gave team huge boost first half, when he scored seven of his eight points in 15 minutes. Drove aggressively to the hoop and made a 3-point shot. Played just four second-half minutes because coach Bill Self wanted his best scorers on the floor to come back from a double-digit deficit.
7 - Mitch Lightfoot: Didn’t score a point or get a rebound or blocked shot in nine minutes. it was a good day for Azubuike to log 31 minutes.

1 - Udoka Azubuike: Picked up third foul 21 seconds into second half but coach Bill Self left him on the court and the center rewarded the coach for that decision. He did a terrific job of establishing position down low and teammates did a great job of looking for him. Scored 12 of his team-high 19 points in the second half and all of his rebounds (three) and blocked shots (three) in the second half. Made 9 of 10 shots from the field, hitting hook shots and an up-and-under to go with the lobs he threw down late in the game. Also made a nifty pass to Devonte' Graham cutting toward the hoop.
2 - Malik Newman: Played with the sort of fire in his eyes that sometimes seems lacking and used it to fuel him to 17 points, six rebounds and four assists.
3 - Lagerald Vick: Left unguarded on the perimeter at times the way Newman was in the first game vs. the Cyclones, Vick made them pay with a big second half, scoring 13 of 16 points. He made a trio of wide-open 3-pointers early in the second half to extend KU’s lead. Made some disruptive defensive plays and had four rebounds and two assists with just one turnover.
4 - Devonte’ Graham: Contributed 13 points, six rebounds and five assists without turning it over, but continued to miss an excessive number of layups. Made 3 f 16 shots from the field and 1 of 7 from 3-point range. Made Made his first five free throws but then missed 3 of 4 down the stretch.
5 - Svi Mykhailiuk: Made 2 of 6 3-pointers and finished with 10 points, just one rebound, two assists and two turnovers.
6 - Mitch Lightfoot: Two points, two rebounds, one block, two steals and three fouls in 15 minutes off the bench.
7 - Marcus Garrett: Played well defensively in 19 minutes and totaled three points, one assists, one rebound, one steal and one turnover.
8 - Silvio De Sousa: Played final 2:44 of first half, scored three points, two coming after he got away with a travel and scored on a put-back. Had three rebounds and gave up one bucket down low. Held his own during stretch that ensured neither Azubuike nor Lightfoot would head into second half with three fouls.
9 - Sam Cunliffe: Played final 1:12 of first half to prevent Newman from risking a third foul.
1 - Devonte' Graham (232)
2 - Svi Mykhailiuk (204)
3 - Udoka Azubuike (202)
4 - Lagerald Vick (188)

6 - Marcus Garrett (143)
7 - Mitch Lightfoot (124)
8 - Sam Cunliffe (37)
9 - Silvio De Sousa (27)
1 - Devonte’ Graham: Played the usual 40 minutes and was the reason Kansas didn’t get blown right out of the gym. Led Kansas with 23 points, made 8 of 17 field goals, 4 of 10 3-pointers, and all three free throws. Had four assists and three turnovers. Easily KU's most consistent performer.
2 - Malik Newman: Scored 11 of his 14 points in the second half. Shared team rebounding lead with three teammates with four. Benched in favor of Marcus Garrett, a decision coach Bill Self said was based on practice attitude, Newman made 5 of 16 shots and 2 of 10 3-pointers.
3: Lagerald Vick: Played 32 minutes off the bench, including all 20 in the second half, which went much better for him than the first half. At one point, Vick scored six consecutive points. Unfortunately for him and the Jayhawks, two of those were for Baylor. He went up for a defensive rebound and accidentally knocked the ball in the basket. All nine of his points and all four of his rebounds came in the second half. Played 12 first-half minutes and all he had to show for it was a pair of missed shots, two personal fouls, an assist and two turnovers.
4: Udoka Azubuike: Had a couple of careless fouls, which limited his minutes to 19 on a day he was the only suited to matching up with Baylor’s size. He didn’t defend well when in the game and had trouble holding onto the ball. Made all four field-goal attempts and turned it over three times. Totaled eight points and four rebounds with one blocked shot.
5 - Marcus Garrett: He started, but Kansas needed more offensive punch in the second half, so he didn’t start the second half and didn’t get in until the final three minutes. Totaled six points, three rebounds and two steals in 20 minutes. Teams don’t guard him on the perimeter.
6: Mitch Lightfoot: Fouled out in 22 minutes after producing two points, three rebounds (all offensive), two assists and two blocked shots. Made just 1 of 6 shots and struggled against Baylor’s size.
7: Svi Mykhailiuk: Garrett’s hand swung back on a missed dunk in warmups and accidentally smacked Svi in the face, his right eye catching the brunt of it. At one point in the layup line, Svi’s eye was partially swollen shut. Ice treatments opened it back up. He said his vision was fine, but it appeared hindered based on how he shot. Made 1 of 8 shots and missed all six 3-pointers. Totaled two points, four rebounds, two assists and one turnover. Has made 2 of 13 3-pointers in past three games.
8: Silvio De Sousa: He checked into the game, King McLure shot a lane jumper over him for an easy bucket, then De Sousa went to the other end, tried to make a move in the post and was whistled for a charge. He checked back out of the game, never to return. He played 28 seconds.

1 - Devonte’ Graham: Led team to victory with terrific 40-minute effort. Defended well, made 5 of 9 3-pointers, and totaled 24 points, six rebounds, five assists and two steals. Plays with an enthusiasm that ignites teammates and the home crowd. His positive aura will be difficult to replace once he uses up his eligibility. He has just three remaining home games, which is another way of saying he’ll play another 120 minutes in Allen Fieldhouse because to put him on the bench is to risk losing the game for making that decision. West Virginia, Oklahoma and Texas are his final three home opponents. He has had terrific games against all three opponents during his career.
2 - Udoka Azubuike: Worked hard to establish position and teammates did a nice job of setting him up for his five dunks on his way to 16 points to go with 11 rebounds and two blocks shots. It can’t be any fun guarding him. He made 4 of 7 free throws for the second game in a row.
3 - Marcus Garrett: Had a big tip for a bucket at end of the first half and finished with 10 points and two offensive boards in 15 minutes. Didn’t miss a shot, making 2 of 2 inside the arc and 2 of 2 3-pointers.
4 - Malik Newman: Made just 1 of 9 shots and missed all five of his 3-point attempts, but had one of his better play-making games. Had four of his five assists in the first half. He entered with just nine assists in 10 games. Didn’t turn it over and picked up six defensive rebounds.
5 - Mitch Lightfoot: Hustled his way to six points, four rebounds, two blocked shots and a steal in first start of his career.
6 - Lagerald Vick: Shook off bad first half at both ends off the bench to contribute 8 of 10 points in second half. Made just 3 of 9 shots and misfired on all three 3-pointers, but played aggressively enough in second half to go to the line four times and cashed in on each one. Had just one rebound.
7 - Svi Mykahiliuk: His man never left him to help out on others and Svi attempted just two shots in 36 minutes and missed them both. Score one point, and three rebounds, one assist, one turnover and one steal.

1 - Devonte’ Graham: Practiced very little during the week because of knee bone bruise, but still gave a solid 40-minute effort that included 17 points, eight assists, four rebounds and three steals. Made 5 of 8 field goals and 2 of 3 3-pointers.
2 - Udoka Azubuike: Made his first four free throws and missed next three. Had stretches of offensive dominance but had rough day on the boards, picking up just two defensive rebounds and five total.
3 - Svi Mykhailiuk: Late in the game forced a really bad pass into the lane that was intended for Marcus Garrett and intercepted and his 3-point shots weren’t dropping (2 of 9), but was very active, as always. Showed athleticism on two blocked shots off the board. Finished with 17 points, five rebounds and four assists. Coach Bill Self mentioned that Graham and Svi are two players who consistently play hard. Had three dunks.
4 - Malik Newman: Awakened in second half to score 14 of his 16 points. Made all three second-half 3-point attempts, but picked up all five of his rebounds in the first half. Only player in seven-man rotation who didn’t have at least one floor burn.
5 - Marcus Garrett: Played 14 minutes, made some nice defensive plays and finished with two points, three rebounds, an assist and a steal.
6 - Mitch Lighftoot: Had just one rebound, off the offensive glass, in 18 minutes to go with a blocked shot. Also took another big charge.
7 - Lagerald Vick: His second-half-of-the-season swoon remains a mystery. Contributed five points and three rebounds in 34 minutes and shot 1 of 5 inside the arc and 1 of 5 beyond it.
8 - Silvio De Sousa: In 48 seconds of action, picked up a nice offensive rebound and it’s a miracle his put-back shot didn’t shatter the backboard. Instead the line drive shot hard off the backboard with no chance at going in.

7 - Mitch Lightfoot (108)
8 - Sam Cunliffe (34)
9 - Silvio De Sousa (20)
1 - Svi Mykhailiuk: So many times when Kansas needed a big bucket Svi was there with that perfect follow-through of his, swishing another 3-pointer from the corner. He produced his third consecutive 20-plus scoring effort. He made 5 of 9 3-pointers on the way to 22 points and added seven rebounds. Still needs to get better at finishing, but he will. It’s good that he’s driving more and once they start dropping with more regularity, he’ll do it even more often, becoming even harder to guard.
2 - Devonte’ Graham: Willed his way to 16 points and 11 assists with three rebounds and three turnovers. Made 2 of 5 3-pointers and 1 of 5 from inside the arc. Made all eight free throws.
3 - Malik Newman: He is responsible for getting back on defense or there is no telling how many rebounds he could get. As it is he’ll have to settle for being a surprisingly terrific defensive rebounder. In his career first double-double, Newman totaled 13 points and 10 rebounds. No other player in the game totaled more than eight rebounds. Is averaging 18 points, 7.3 rebounds and 37.3 minutes in the past four games.
4 - Mitch Lightfoot: Played awfully well for a guy who didn’t score a point. Dennis Rodman would be proud of the game he played. He didn’t take a shot, blocked three shots, took a big charge and picked up five rebounds, three on the offensive glass.
5 - Lagerald Vick: Made 1 of 2 3-pointers, 3 of 5 inside the arc and just 2 of 4 from the line. Had 11 points and four rebounds.
6 - Udoka Azubuike: A non-factor in a game that figured to be one in which he could dominate down low. Totaled six points, three rebounds, three turnovers and three fouls in 18 minutes. Missed his first three free throws and made his last two.
7 - Marcus Garrett: Committed three fouls in two first-half minutes and played four minutes on the night, turning it over once.
8 - Sam Cunliffe: Foul trouble for Vick and Garrett enabled Cunliffe to play six first-half minutes. He didn’t look comfortable. He spaced out with the ball near the right corner, forgetting he already had dribbled and dribbled again. A referee was standing right next to him. Turnover. He also air-balled a wide-open 3-pointer from the left corner. He did make a shot inside to punctuate a 1-on-3 drive to the hoop.
9 - Silvio De Sousa: Azubuike and Lightfoot both picked up two first-half fouls, which created an opportunity for him. After watching De Sousa set a pick, roll to the hoop and forget to look for the pass from Graham as the ball trickled out of bounds, and then losing Dean Wade for a 3-pointer, coach Bill Self had seen enough in two minutes to know that he had to put Lightfoot back in the game.

1— Svi Mykhailiuk: Scored 17 of his game-high 24 points in the first half. Also had six rebounds and three assists without a turnover. Made 4 of 8 3-pointers and all four free throws.
2 — Marcus Garrett: Stood out defensively supplying on-time help and had two steals and several deflections. Made all four of his field-goal attempts, including a 3-pointer from the right corner in the second half. Scored nine points.
3— Malik Newman: Had 15 points, seven rebounds and two steals to continue his recent trend of strong play.
4 — Udoka Azubuike: Received a technical foul after slamming and looking down at an opponent on the ground beneath him. “I think he might have said something, too,” KU coach Bill Self said of the third foul that put his center on the bench for a long stretch. Azubuike had a terrific first half with six rebounds and four blocked shots. Didn’t get any of either in the second half, when he scored six of his eight points. Didn’t shoot any free throws after spending time working one-on-one with Self on his form.
5 —Devonte’ Graham: Totaled eight points, six rebounds and seven assists but made just 2 of 11 and missed all six shots from inside the arc. On drives to the hoop he sometimes looks as if he’s trying to draw a foul at the expense of giving himself the best chance at making the shot by keeping his eyes up and on the target.
6 — Lagerald Vick: Played a bit more aggressively, but still didn’t match early season form on his way to 10 points, three rebounds, two assists and a blocked shot in 32 minutes.
7 — Mitch Lightfoot: Scored five points and had two rebounds.
8 — Silvio De Sousa: Played two first-half minutes and received a huge ovation for his blocked shot. Self said he was hoping to play him more, but Kansas was unable to maintain its big lead in the second half.

9 - Silvio De Sousa (15)
1 - Svi Mykhailiuk: Drove aggressively and made 6 of 13 3-pointers on way to team-high 24 points. Also contributed five rebounds and four assists.
2 - Malik Newman: Playing with far more confidence in the past two games, Newman made 7 of 12 shots, 3 of 5 3-pointers and all three free throws. Plus, he picked up four steals continued his steady work on the defensive boards, where he picked up four of his five rebounds.
3 - Devonte' Graham: Did a nice job of staying in front of Trae Young until midway through the second half. Repeatedly found teammates for open shots and finished with 11 points, seven rebounds and nine assists to go with just two turnovers. Other than a rough, rough shooting night (4 of 19, 1 of 9 from 3, 2 of 4 from the line), played well.
4 - Mitch Lightfoot: Played so well that in his 17 minutes Kansas had a seven-point advantage. Battled hard for eight points, five rebounds and two blocked shots.
5 - Udoka Azubuike: Foul trouble limited him to 22 minutes and free-throw woes limited him to nine points. The blueprint to stopping him from scoring never was followed so blatantly as when Lon Kruger instructed his players to foul every time down when the game dwindled inside four minutes. He missed all six free throws in the final 3:37. Kansas coach Bill Self said midseason is no time to change his free-throw technique, so it will be interesting to see whether Self removes him from the game late when the Jayhawks are in another close one. Self answered, “I don’t know,” when asked what he will do next time.
6 - Marcus Garrett: Was late with defensive help a couple of times, but generally played well and aggressively. Made 2 of 4 shots, didn’t attempt any 3-pointers (Yes!) and picked up four rebounds, two off the offensive glass, where he is sneakily effective.
7 - Lagerald Vick: Self ran a lob play for him coming out of a timeout early in the second half and Vick threw it down for his first points of the night. Missed all four 3-point attempts and in 30 minutes totaled just four points, two rebounds and one assist. When his aggressive play returns, and it will, he’ll give Kansas a big boost.
8 - Sam Cunliffe: Played final 11 seconds.
9 - Silvio De Sousa: Played 65 seconds, time enough to commit three turnovers, a personal foul and surrender a dunk. Not ready for prime time.
1 - Devonte' Graham (180)
2 - Svi Mykhailiuk (162)
3 - Udoka Azubuike (155)
4 - Lagerald Vick (152)

6 - Marcus Garrett (106)
7 - Mitch Lightfoot (92)
8 - Sam Cunliffe (31)
9 - Silvio De Sousa (12)
1 - Malik Newman: Completely took over game at end and is reason Kansas was able to maintain solo first-place standing in Big 12. Baylor took 67-61 lead and Newman scored game’s next seven points to give Kansas lead it never surrendered. Scored 12 of his game-high 24 points in a span that started with 4:20 left and ended with 1:09 on the clock. With no time to think about what to do, he drove hard to the hoop, finished strong and made his free throws.
2 - Devonte’ Graham: Played 40 minutes and looked tired at times, which might have been factor in his subpar shooting (3 for 10, 2 for 6 from 3), but still contributed in myriad ways to the victory. Had 15 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and two steals to go with three turnovers.
3 - Udoka Azubuike: Did a beautiful job of helping out on Manu Lecomte with three seconds left and KU leading by one, altering his driving shot so that it came high off the glass and glanced off the front of the rim. Steadily is becoming more of a defensive presence and his footwork is improving in the post. Totaled 14 points and seven rebounds, but made just 4 of 11 free throws to drop to .411 on the season from the line, an alarming number. Was only KU player to score a field goal for a stretch that lasted longer than 20 minutes.
4 - Svi Mykhailiuk: Dunked with left hand off dribble over Mark Vital and then skied high to throw down a lob from Devonte’ Graham early in the game. Also missed three shots on drives to the hoop. Finished with seven points, three rebounds and four assists. Had rough second half, going scoreless and shooting 0 for 3 from 3.
5 - Lagerald Vick: Another passive performance from the junior who started the season on fire. Had five points and five rebounds.
6 - Marcus Garrett: Made just 3 of 8 free throws as his season percentage from the line dipped to .480. Missed only 3-point attempt to drop to .185 on season. Totaled five points and three rebounds in 21 minutes.
7 - Mitch Lightfoot: Played six scoreless minutes with one block and one rebound.
8 - Silvio De Sousa: Played two minutes without a point, rebound, or assist, but did manage to get whistled for three personal fouls.
