1 - Khalil Herbert: Busted up the middle to open space and motored 56 yards for a touchdown and had more than 100 yards in the first half. Finished with 137 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries.

2 - Mike Lee: Big third-quarter interception in end zone with fancy footwork that enabled him to stay inbounds was game’s first turnover. Lee also was credited with a pass breakup and in on nine tackles, four of the solo variety, one for a loss.

3 - Dorance Armstrong: Three solo tackles, six assists and two tackles for seven yards in losses. Active in the run game. Still seeking his first sack of the season.

4 - Daniel Wise: In on six tackles, one behind the line of scrimmage.

5 - Evan Fairs: Big, fast, graceful, good pair of hands. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound sophomore from Fulshear, Texas is progressing nicely. Caught three passes for 77 yards. Exciting talent.

6 - Chase Harrell: Made terrific touchdown catch and had five receptions for 88 yards.

7 - Jeremiah Booker: Caught four passes for 59 yards and a touchdown.

8 - Hakeem Adeniji: When you tend not to notice the left tackle, that’s generally a good sign in much the same way as not noticing the third-base coach means he had a good night.

9 - Zach Hannon: Graduate transfer limited to special-teams duty during his Nebraska career took younger Antione Frazier’s spot at right tackle early in the game and upgraded the run game and pass protection.

10 - Steven Sims: Six catches for 60 yards for the junior coming off an ankle injury.

Where are Baldwin and Charlot? How bad do you mess up to not get playing time at Kansas?

Given Beaty's handling of the QB spot last year, I'm confident that neither guy is playing because they refused to hold hands in the huddle.

Two other bright spot on offense are Chase Harrell and Jeremiah Booker. Nice to see receivers who can go up and over defenders to pull in receptions. Harrell has already made some impressive catches this year and at least give Bender some legitimate passing options when in the red zone (since for some reason the KU coaches don't think they can run it in from a yard out).
