1 - Udoka Azubuike: Huge talent making big strides of late. Made 12 of 15 field goals on a 24-point, seven-rebound, two-block night. Looking better in every area except the free-throw line, where he went 0 for 2. Can and will become better rebounder.

2 - Devonte’ Graham: Had 10 points, five assists and no turnovers in a first half that included perfect lobs to three different teammates. Didn’t play as well in the second half and finished with 14 points, six assists, two steals and two turnovers. Made 3 of 6 3-pointers and just 1 of 6 2-pointers.

3 - Svi Mykhailiuk: Left-handed drive becoming a nice weapon for the 3-point shooter who went 0 for 5 from 3 in this one. He still scored 14 points, an indication of how much more aggressively he’s playing as a senior, and had seven rebounds.

4 - Lagerald Vick: Committed three first-half fouls or he would have had an even bigger first half. Scored 10 of his 13 points in the first half. Made 5 of 7 shots from the field and both 3-point attempts.

5 - Malik Newman: Who knew rebounding would be what he would do best? He’ll develop into a scorer, but it hasn’t happened yet for him. Totaled seven points and seven rebounds in 37 minutes.

6 - Marcus Garrett: Did a nice job defensively, swarming to Reid Travis to help make life difficult for the constantly crowded big man. Garrett continues to struggle offensively. Scored one point in 23 minutes on a night he contributed two steals.

7 - Sam Cunliffe: Badly telegraphed a pass for a late turnover. Also had two points, a rebound, an assist and two personals in nine minutes.

8 - Mitch Lightfoot: Committed four fouls and three turnovers in 13 scoreless minutes.

I was really impressed with Svi's play. It was the most mature and aggressive game that I recall from him and maybe all the better that he missed his 3's. I'll take an active 6-8 that drives and rebounds which seemed to carry over to his D as well. Seemed to be similar for the other guys as well. Loved that he and Malik have joined Vick and Garrett as rebounders.

It seemed like they were/are being transformed into what Coach desires. That's exciting to see especially when it parallels Dok's development.

Also, while Sam and Mitch deservedly bring up the rear in these rankings I personally think it is worth noting their great energy off the bench. It didn't produce positive stats but was a significant part of the positive results. I think they deserve credit for it and not just the criticism of negative stats.
