- Brannen Greene: Drew his fourth foul with 11-plus remaining but he had already done huge damage. Came back in and hit a huge three-pointer from the right corner to put KU up five with 2:34 left. Made 5 of 5 threes and scored 19 points in 18 minutes.

- Perry Ellis: Couldn’t get his shots near the bucket to drop but played aggressively at both ends and totaled 13 points, 10 rebounds, three steals, two assists and two blocked shots.

- Cliff Alexander: Had a tough time checking Joshua Smith, who had a huge size advantage, but so did everybody else. Never stopped battling and finished with seven points, six rebounds and two blocked shots.

- Frank Mason III: Started the game in rough fashion and had two key turnovers late, but also made a huge three-pointer and totaled 14 points, three boards and two steals playing on a sore ankle. Had three assists and four turnovers.

- Kelly Oubre Jr.: Brought good energy off the bench and reached season highs in several categories, including minutes (16), points (seven), rebounds (five), free throws (5 of 6) and steals (two).

- Wayne Selden Jr.: Made 2 of 3 three-pointers but missed all of his shots inside the arc, including an attempted dunk. Played well defensively but as was the case with most teammates, he could have taken better care of the ball (three turnovers).

- Devonté Graham: Left the game with a sprained ankle with 10 minutes left and didn’t return. Didn’t show great shot selection and had a pair of turnovers.

- Landen Lucas: Tried to get physical with Joshua Smith and fouled out after 13 minutes of action. Had two points and two rebounds.

- Svi Mykhailiuk: Not a good night. Bill Self had seen enough after watching him play five minutes and determined this was not a good matchup for the 17-year-old freshman.

- Hunter Mickelson: In for a fraction of a minute and his man scored on a dunk.

Svi wasn't overmatched. I watched all of his limited minutes again. He had a stupid foul off of the ball and a silly turnover, but he was never playing over his head or unable to play D; rather, he looked pretty good on D.

Not picking on Svi, I think he's an awesome talent, and its plain nuts that a just-turned-17 yr old can be out their gunslinging for a royalty program--but he truly is that good. But he's still learning some things...and that "silly" turnover as Sean mentioned above, was an absolute gift, done when he was doing his weave, and made an 'automatic' pass, which the defender read. The announcers mentioned that G'town players were very well coached as to the KU scouting report, and they were waiting for our famous/infamous 'weave'. So I liked when Selden or Mason or Oubre or Graham got the ball and when they turned-in from the weave, they kept the ball and attacked the paint.
