KU's big men gravitate to top of Keegans

1. Marcus Morris: Averaging 17.8 points and 8.5 boards in Big 12 play after 20-point, 11-rebound effort.

2. Sherron Collins: Got into verbal spat with Nebraska’s Sek Henry in the layup line, which was all he needed to play with that nasty edge. He made 4 of 6 three-pointers and totaled 17 points and six assists.

3. Cole Aldrich: Sat out most of first half after getting whistled for second foul. Finished with eight points, six boards, four blocked shots, two assists and a steal.

4. Jeff Withey: The 7-foot freshman can play. For a guy who seldom gets in he plays with a lot of confidence. He’s a natural shot-blocker, moves well, has soft hands and looks like a confident offensive player. Had four points, six boards and two blocked shots.

5. Markieff Morris: Had nine points and three blocked shots in nine minutes.

6. Brady Morningstar: Had a huge steal that prevented a bucket down low and had four assists but went scoreless.

7. Tyshawn Taylor: Had four points, three assists and a steal in 22 minutes.

8. Tyrel Reed: He always plays hard and shoots soft. Scored just two points but had two assists and as usual did not turn over the ball.

9. Xavier Henry: Too eager to shoot, too quick to turn it over. Made 3 of 9 field goals and had four turnovers.

10. Thomas Robinson: Had three fouls and a turnover in six minutes, but did score a bucket.

I have the feeling that everyone on the team is just telling X to SHOOT SHOOT SHOOT! We all want him to catch fire because he could be the difference maker in March.

Withey is following the path of Cole. Used sparingly, except for practice against the best. Who will he dominate in March/April?

Plastic, no need to feel about it. Just read the article from a couple days ago. Everyone on the team is telling X to shoot shoot shoot! He certainly could be the difference maker in March/April.

Remember Withey was out an extended period with the stress fracture. He'll see some PT vs Texas because of their size, but even he has commented that he's not in "game" shape yet. I would like to see Taylor get the starting nod over Henry as KU heads down the stretch.

I doubt Withey will see much time in Texas. He is not in that great of "game shape" and the monday game will be an up and down affair. Withey is more suited for a slow grind kind of game like the Neb. game or an OSU game later down the schedule. All in all though we must trust coach to decide when the best time for Withey to come in and play. My .02 cents RCJH beat Texas

You ask, "Who will Withey dominate in March/April?"

Just like Cole, it will be Carolina, baby!!!!! Hey, wait-----Carolina doesn't make the NCAA---only the NIT.

As Rosanna Dana Dana would say, "Never mind!"

NC loses big again today. Are they good enough for the NIT?

ACC is a weak conference. Have you noticed how down in the dumps Dickie V has been lately? Assume Bobby will be announcing tomorrow night's game?

Bob Knight doing the game tomorrow? Man, that would be great!!! In his heart, he's probably pulling for the Jayhawks--he likes Bill Self's coaching.
