Mount Aldrich tops rankings

1. Cole Aldrich: He makes shooters so tentative in the paint, makes them think about where he is and whether he’s a threat to block their shots. Had 18 points, 11 rebounds, five blocked shots and a steal.

2. Sherron Collins: Bothered by leg cramps, he missed a long stretch but came back in time to steady the ship. Had 12 points, five rebounds, two steals and two assists and attempted just seven field goals.

3. Marcus Morris: Had 10 points, moved his feet great on defense and generally looked very confident.

4. Markieff Morris: Played strong defensively and contributed six rebounds.

5. Xavier Henry: Forced it a little offensively, making 3 of 11 shots from the field. Had four turnovers without an assist, but did contribute three steals.

6. Tyrel Reed: Missed both shots and had trouble feeding the post.

7. Tyshawn Taylor: Rough, rough night. Had game-high five assists, but missed all four field goal attempts and committed seven turnovers.

8. Thomas Robinson: Played just two minutes, had an offensive rebound and couldn’t convert. Coach Bill Self said it was not a good night to play Robinson and Aldrich together because of the quick lineup Memphis used.

9. Elijah Johnson: Rattled by Memphis pressure, not unusual for a freshman guard playing in November.

D@mn right Aldrich is at the top of the rankings. He was THE reason this team didn't lose last night.

Being the 3rd best Jayhawk last night was not nearly as meaningful as being the 3rd best jayhawk against Hofstra...

Taylor's turnovers were bad, but he made a few nice plays. How about the steal and dish to Sherron before the half. That was a 4 point turnaround. I'd have to flip him with Tyrel.

Overall to date, this is the easiest game to rank.

    3 with good games.
    3 with average games.
    3 stinkers.

Biggest disappointment was definitely Taylor. He looked like a freshman playing his first game on ESPN. If he continues to turn it over, he won't play.
