1. Darrell Stuckey: Made a great play to keep Brandon Banks from turning an end-around into six points. Stuckey also returned the opening kickoff 67 yards.
2. Kerry Meier: Caught eight passes for 92 yards.
3. Dezmon Briscoe: Made seven receptions for 76 yards and a touchdown.
4. Lubbock Smith: Aggressive safety led team with nine tackles.
5. John Williams: Applied pressure up the middle on the quarterback and had a couple of key run stops.
6. Brad Thorson: Has played center and guard and in this game made a smooth transition to right tackle.
7. Caleb Blakesley: Had a key run stop and as always quietly battled through injuries.
8. Huldon Tharp: Had team-high nine tackles.
9. Toben Opurum: Was handed the ball twice and did his job both times. He rushed for three yards on first-and-goal from the 8 and gained four yards on fourth-and-1 from the K-State 34.
10. Alonso Rojas: Brandon Banks did not return either of his punts for a touchdown.

The underuse of Opurum given the way the team has played the last 4 weeks is mind blowing. Anyone have even a far fetched explanation for this? I know we aren't the head coach, but I can't believe anything Mangino would say to defend this decision would pass the red faced test.
Why not try giving Opurum the ball at least 20 times next week. Can't be any worse than what we are getting now.

I'd say the same thing except I'm not sure it matter who's running the ball into the teeth of the Nubs D. The past few weeks though, inexplicable.

hasn't Stuckey returned 2 kicks at least 50 yards this year? And Briscoe and Mcdougald both struggle to get to the 20? So why not make Stuck the full time deep man? I guess MM doesn't want to do that,it would make sense and give us a better chance of winning, kind of like using Opurum more than twice a game, I guess.

McDougald has had a long KR this year as well. I think it was even in the same game (CU?) as Stuckey (? and both were wasted?).
Also interesting that Lubbock's team leading 9 T's has him #4, and Huldon's team leading 9 T's has him #8.
As disappointing as this season is becoming, the development of so many young guys is really encouraging for the future.

Tom, let's be honest here. You should have just simply written, "No One Qualified" and left it at that re the KSU game. Most of the KU players' performance "ranked" by you is a mockery, a frick'n joke: the listed "accomplishments" couldn't compete for notoriety in a flag football league made up of 90 year old widows in wheel chairs.
It's the Buffalo Chips Bowl in Minot, ND in late December for KU this year, Tom.
