KU big men take top 2 spots in ratings

1. Cole Aldrich: You have to love how hard he hustled against weakest opponent he’ll face for the rest of his life. Had 13 points, 16 rebounds, three blocked shots and two steals in 24 minutes.

2. Thomas Robinson: Too quick, strong and explosive for the competition, Robinson pitched in with 15 points, 10 rebounds and three blocked shots in 18 minutes.

3. Xavier Henry: Made 5 of 10 three-point shots.

4. Sherron Collins: Looked to shoot more often, made 5 of 12 three-point shots and did not turn the ball over once in 24 minutes and had three steals.

5. Marcus Morris: Had nine points, seven boards, three assists and two steals in 17 minutes. Mid-range jumper looks so much better this season.

6. Elijah Johnson: Runs the break at high speed and also passes well in the halfcourt. Still not shooting well. Had unusual looking stat line in 21 minutes: Zero points, four rebounds, nine assists.

7. Tyshawn Taylor: Had five assists and five steals but didn’t shoot well and turned it over three times.

8. Markieff Morris: Didn’t shoot well but hit the boards hard and passed well.

9. Tyrel Reed: Made just 1 of 5 three-point shots.

Connor Teahan should be in there instead of Reed...I thought Reed played terrible tonight...

sutton:

I don't think Keegan typically includes walk-ons. He made an exception for CJ after his first game though. Perhaps Tom will later amend it for Teahen as well, since he is playing a lot more right now.

Even against a pathetic club like Alcorn TJ Taylor makes terrible decisions and turns over the ball. When Morningstar returns (December 19th) you can expect Morningstar will take a lot of TJ's minutes.

A double double is great, but 3 of 11 from the free throw line is hardly commendable...

I agree, Teahen played great. I'd love to see his outside shot start falling a little more so that he can start eating some of Reed's minutes. I like Reed, but just like Teahen more.

Did CJ play last night? If not, anyone know why?

He has a sore knee...And from what Self said it was probably from all the conditioning they did the day before.

3 of 11 FT is not a #2 day. It didn't matter last night, but Robinson's minutes should be gone in tight games if he doesn't at least get to 60%. The whole team was bad at FT line, actually, except Markieff (80%). Cole has not been very good this year (3/5 last night, about that on the year). Two title games in the last 6 years have proven to KU why we have to start making them - if FT shooting had gone the other way, we would have a 03 banner and an 08 runner up.

Connor Teahan gets my vote... he should have made your list. He was out there busting his hump doing a little bit of everything.

Taylor has officially become the player to make you do a face palm at least once a game. Title was previously held by the Morris twins last season.

Cpmpr Teajam dod more most in combined scoring, rebounding and ball handling than anty of the other "reserves". He should get credit.
