Film created by three KU professors headed to Sundance

Three Kansas University professors have collaborated on a film, "The Only Good Indian," that has been selected to be shown at the Sundance Film Festival.Kevin Willmott, associate professor of theatre and film, produced and directed the film. Matt Jacobson, associate professor of theatre and film, was director of photography, and Bob Hurst, assistant professor of theatre and film, was supervising sound editor.All three will be headed to Park City, Utah, later this month to screen the film in the noncompetitive category, and to shop it for distribution rights.“The Only Good Indian,” written by Lawrence resident and KU alumnus Thomas L. Carmody, tells the story of a Native American boy taken from his home and forced to attend a boarding school.Check out the movie trailer:And here's a video feature that KU produced about the film:
