Mangino, Perkins ring opening NASDAQ bell

In a commemoration of their invitation to the Insight Bowl, representatives from the University of Minnesota and Kansas University were in New York City Monday morning to ring the opening bell for the NASDAQ stock market.ImagePictured from left to right are Minnesota Head Coach Tim Brewster, Minnesota Athletics Director Joel Maturi, Insight Bowl President and CEO Rich Fennessy, Inisght Bowl Chairman Dave Tilson, Kansas Head Coach Mark Mangino, Kansas Athletics Director Lew Perkins, who all joined in a ceremony to open the day's trading.As of 1:30 Monday afternoon, their presence wasn't helping the market any — the NASDAQ index was trading at 2.4 percent below opening levels.
