Markieff Morris (Phoenix Suns) scored 14 points and outplayed starting power forward Channing Frye on Sunday night, but the Suns lost 102-91 to the San Antonio Spurs. Frye had an 0-for-7 dud of a night, going scoreless and adding just two rebounds in 18 minutes. Markieff, on the other hand, hit 6 of 10 shots (2 of 6 threes) with three rebounds and an assist in 25 minutes off the bench. He also committed four fouls (full stats here). Markieff did his best to help cut San Antonio’s lead in the fourth quarter, scoring nine points in nine minutes, but the Spurs held on to their double-digit lead.
Brandon Rush (Golden State Warriors) chipped in an efficient 12 points in 20 minutes on Sunday as the Warriors won their first road game, a 99-91 victory over the Detroit Pistons. Rush hit 5 of 8 shots (two dunks, a layup and 2 of 4 threes) to go along with three rebounds, an assist and zero turnovers (full stats here).
Aaron Miles (BEKO PBL - Krasnye Krylya - Russia) scored 22 points off of sharp 8 for 11 shooting on Saturday. Miles also had four assists, two rebounds and a steal in 38 minutes (full stats here). His next game will be on Jan. 28.
Brady Morningstar (NBA D-League - Tulsa 66ers) had one of his best games in almost a month on Sunday. Morningstar scored 19 points, making all four of his three-point tries, as the 66ers lost by a point. He added five rebounds and two assists to two turnovers in 28 minutes (full stats here).
Chris Gardner of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel tweeted that Milwaukee Bucks center Andrew Bogut will be back for this afternoon’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers. That’s good news for Bogut and the Bucks, but bad news for Drew Gooden, who will head back to the bench for limited minutes.
Sherron Collins (Hacettepe University - Turkey) and Tyrel Reed (formerly of VOO Verviers-Pepinster - Belgium) both tweeted that they will be back in Allen Fieldhouse as KU takes on Baylor at 8:30 tonight.
noon, ESPN, Josh Selby and the Memphis Grizzlies vs. the Chicago Bulls
1 p.m., Drew Gooden and the Milwaukee Bucks vs. the Philadelphia 76ers
7 p.m., TNT, Paul Pierce and the Boston Celtics vs. Nick Collison, Cole Aldrich and the Oklahoma City Thunder

I must say that with the shortened season in the NBA, I kind of like it. I also really follow the players and not the teams. I've heard that the Thunder have a great team, but I couldn't tell you the win loss record of any team.
The NBA should continue to start their season on Christmas and extend it by a month if they want the 82 games. I also think of July being a dead time and for their finals to be in July instead of June would probably be more advantageous.

That idea could have an impact with the offseason then. NBA drafts are usually at the end of June, which means that college players have to decide at a certain date. If the draft is pushed after the finals (if it were to be in July), then that could mean that college players have a later date to decide if they want to go pro or not. That will affect the recruiting then for colleges.

I don't see any reason to change the entry deadline; just let them have more time between the entry date and the date of the draft. I don't see how changing the deadline would benefit the NBA(it isn't like they get to see the kids play more college games) so it would make sense for them to help out their minor league aka NCAABB.

It would make a lot of sense to shift the NBA season towards the summer. Start in at the beginning of December and end in July. It avoids starting the NBA season until like week 13 or so of the NFL as apposed to week 8, when the playoff race is wide open.
82 games is too many anyways so they could shorten it to 72. I like this guy's idea expect shift the season by a month Dec-Mid May for the regular season and Mid May-Mid July for the playoffs. I guess they could schedule around March Madness a bit; that might push the playoffs to end in late July.

it should be noted that one of Kieff's 3's was from at least 3 feet behind the line from the top of the key. MkMorris looked awesome in the fourth quarter and was one of the main reasons the Suns made a come-back in that quarter.
As an avid Laker fan its hard for me to root for the Suns but with MkMorris Rock Chalking its hard not to cheer for him to succeed as a Sun.
