Two Months ago, Sage Rosenfels and Tarvaris Jackson were low.
They were in the midst of a knock down drag out battle to be the Starting Quarterback for a team that was considered a playoff calibre team, who was just one Big play Quarterback away from being considered a Solid Contender.
Sage Rosenfels took the early advantage in Week 1 of Preseason when Tarvaris Jackson struggled mightily. Rosenfels, had completed 10 of 13 passes for 91 yards and was well on his way to winning the starting job from Tarvaris Jackson, the incumbant starter.
You see, All summer long both Quarterbacks heard the whispers. They heard the drama and the X-rays, and the late night meetings. Both focused on the job of winning that quarterback spot, they weren't going to be concerned with the distant news of the Return of a Legend.
Then, shortly after the news Broke, after Sage Rosenfels took the lead in the Quarterback competition, Brett Farve was going to become a Viking. So much for a competition. The locker room was already divided on those who sideed with the two competitiors now it fractured with a legend who sat out training camp, and was not in practices in the hot summer days along side the veterans, and who rookies remember for running around making plays for most of the Childhood and before.
My point of this was not to look back, while those dark hours must have been humbling, and fitful. It's look forward at something that may not be seen, even by the most ardent sports fan. No matter your opinion of Farve, no matter what you think of him personally. I believe tose of us who speak so strongly for team play, must become fans of the MInnesota Vikings this year, even if we hate them normally.
While Farve is creating headlines, alongside the rest of the offense.... you do not hear one puff of indignation or frustration from those two Competitors who fought so long and hard in the offseason.

They seem to be doing fine, in the background after all that tribulation.

What does any of this have to do with the price of tea in China. Although I love football this is a KU website.
