To those of you who have Cox Communications and are unhappy that they are not covering the KU vs Northern Colorado game on Saturday due to not carrying FCS, be upset no longer. I used to have cox communications when I lived in the midwest and they are terrible! If you guys can get Verizon Fios I would suggest that over Cox

suttonku- Here in Wichita, KS I think the only cable network we have is Cox. They are pretty expensive but have a good selection of channels and good service in my experience (I have heard many others say the same as you). I guess since I have always lived in a "Cox Communications" area I have never been able to experience another company to make an educated statement on which company is good and which is not.

I am waiting on the Big 12 to get their own network similar to the Big 10. Cox carries the Big 10 network and it pains me everytime I watch the station because the Big 12 could have something similar. I guess the Big 12 has to fulfill all of their other television contracts first. Have a good college football kickoff weekend and go Jayhawks!

Chris- The big 10 network was a disaster, hope they get the kinks worked out.... They had all sorts of cable disputes with the local cabl;e ocmpanies and only certain cables packages ggot the big 10 network which lead to the area being blacked out of 90 percent of the sprots during the first year..... it was horrible.

If they can do it smarter than the big 10 people did, so be it. Otherwise, im content to deal with spotty game coverage ( considering i moved from big 10 country ) i got to se 2-3 games last year....... the espn big monday's that we actually were in..... that's it....

As for tomorrow's game.... Ill be in one of the endzones, hopefully seeing first hand several toben Opurum touchdown runs...... Several todd reesing touchdown passes.... and maybe even a pick 6..... Rock Chalk.

wayward-I was not aware of the problems with the Big 10 network (I did not pay too much attention to it when it was conceived. Still would be nice to see all or most of the Big 12 games since I do live in Big 12 country. I am not a big fan of watching the SEC aand Big 10 all over my television.

Chris.... it was ok if you had dish network.... dish network you had to pay for a premium package.... but if you had local cable Providers in ohio, illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania ( notice the states ) you could not receive the big 10 network because they had a dispute with cable service industry because they solved the problems with DIsh first.... ( which was the easiest problem mine you ) they had to settle the details with all these area service providers and namely comcast ( because they serve ALOT of that area.... )

COmcast wanted it as part of an Upgrade package similiar to dish network but the big ten ( 11 ) network wanted it to be available on regular cable so their subscribers wouldn't have to pay much more to get that channel..... this started a media WAR between the big 10 (11 ) network and the service providers..... eventually they struck a deal.... im not sure what happened to end the dead lock... but big 10 ( 11 ) fans lost about a season and a half of their sports teams... unless they had dish network or had frineds who had dish network or watched the game at a bar.....

It was HOrrible. COuldn't even get radio coverage.....It's a boon if you can get the program to work well... but if you run into fits.... it's terrible.... i don't know about you, but i don't want to miss out on a season of Kansas Basketball....

I see by the schedule this year the basketball coverage is going to be messed up again with ESPN covering several of the games. Not only do they delay the KU games , they also jump all around the country showing us the east and west coast games while KU is playing. What a bummer! They also dreamed up another way to keep us hardcore fans from seeing more of the games by inventing a ESPNU channel. That channel isn't evan available in the heart of jayhawk territory. (Kansas) Wichita area. I guess you could get it if you are willing to give them more of your money over and above what t/v is already costing.
