Arizona 34, Oregon 24.OK, Big 12 Conference football teams, commence rejoicing. And : STOP.Time to get back to work.Yes, No. 2 Oregon's stunning setback against unranked Arizona - aided greatly by a left knee injury to Heisman Trophy candidate quarterback Dennis Dixon - makes the Ducks the latest team to be eliminated from the BCS National Championship picture. That's big news for a Big 12 that boasts No. 3 Kansas, No. 4 Oklahoma and No. 5 Missouri. If all three win their games Saturday and then OU beats a struggling Oklahoma State squad next weekend, then the Big 12 Champion (the Kansas-Missouri winner vs. Oklahoma) is pretty much guaranteed a spot in the national championship game. But here's the key: No looking ahead.Speculation is part of the fun of college athletics, but that's reserved for fans and pundits. The Jayhawks, Tigers and Sooners can't afford to do that. If this football season has taught us anything, it's that absolutely anything can happen any week.If you think Iowa State's not capable of upsetting Kansas, you're crazy. Same thing if you think Missouri's guaranteed to beat K-State or if you think Oklahoma is untouchable. Nothing is given, and the Big 12 needs the three powers to deliver victories on Saturday to all but lock up two BCS bowl berths and a massive payday.Oregon losing helped the cause, but there's a lot of work left to do.

I'm picturing the nintendo game Duck Hunt, only instead of the dog that goes and fetches the birds its the Arizona Wildcat mascot.

I was totally shocked at how
poorly Oregon played without Dixon. KU would have ripped them apart.
And it wasn't like Arizona was playing to win. They got up
31-11 at half with the benefit of a punt return TD and an
interception return TD and dodged a bullet by intercepting
a ball in the end zone.
Then the second half Arizona just threw the ball about 80%
of the time, most of the time incomplete. They must have
giving the ball back to Oregon on punts 5 or 6 times in the
second half. I couldn't believe Arizona didn't try to
establish a running game to run clock.

Sevenyear,
I like all the $H!T you're stirring up on Dodd's column on Sportsline. Keep up the good work, comrade! You have definitely ruffled some Duck feathers and Kitty fur.

On the Fox Sports Forums, the OU fans and LSU fans are giving kudos to the Jayhawks. Throw a WV fan in there, and KU is getting the respect across the country. Mizzou will never respect KU, so take whatever they say with a grain of salt. I've also seen Texas Longhorn fans say "kansas is for real". Lets remember this, we get Texas and Texas Tech in Lawrence next season and have to travel to South Florida, Colorado, and Nebraska. The Border War game will be at Arrowhead again, and yes, we have to go to Norman. If KU is 10-0 next year at this time, they will no doubt be the number 1 in the BCS. And do i think Kansas is that good? yes i do!

Correction, Colorado plays in Lawrence Next year as does K-State. I do think KU would still be 10-0 with Texas and OU on the schedule.
