Kansas 75, Baylor 65

  • What a night for the Morris twins to come alive! The stretch at the beginning of the second half really turned out to be a blow that Baylor was never able to recover from. Hopefully this is a sign of both improvement and greater things to come from M & M.- Cole Aldrich was dominant last night in spite of foul issues. Offensively he was money when he got the ball in the post. Also, KU's rebounding was awesome in a game that it absolutely had to be at that level. Kudos.- IMO, this was the most balanced attack the 'Hawks have shown all year long. The youth still have their occasional lapses (see: errant passing). Offensively, everyone was involved. And on the defensive end....what can you say? Baylor spreads the floor sooo well for their dribble-drive offensive attack. And, honestly, their guards are quicker than ours. But great team defense, communication, etc. put us in position to come out victorious.- Sherron: cold from three again (I don't remember him hitting any)? Watch out, Okie State. A long layoff before Saturday's matchup means Collins will have plenty of time to work on his jumper and "get right." I predict a HUGE first half for #4 this weekend.- [Shifting gears a bit] MU still getting votes in the polls? What gives? I predicted last night's margin (8+ to be exact) and I'm still betting that Kansas will steamroll through Columbia next Monday. Outside of OU & KU, the Big XII is looking WEAK. OU (great team) is the squad to beat, while KU (great coach) has quietly put together a season that is surpassing pundits' expectations (but probably not HCBS's). Rick Barnes (STILL not considered an elite coach) and Texas is too reliant on one player (Abrams) to contend for the Big XII title. But hey, the South teams beating up on each other won't hurt us. We'll see how it plays out.- What did everyone think of Ty Taylor getting "clotheslined" by that big dumb animal off Baylor's bench? Each KU-Baylor game, their seems to be a play or two that is slightly "dirty." That, at the same time the announcers are saying how great a job Scott Drew has done. Any thoughts?- KU over OSU by 12+ Saturday. Rock Chalk!
