Tom is back to join Matt as they discuss Kansas basketball, football, women's basketball and baseball. Hopefully Tom doesn't say anything to get them in trouble.

First of all, condolences Tom. Hope your family is supporting you and vice versa through a very difficult time. Prayers being sent your way.
With regard to basketball, let's keep in mind that a 137th ranking in the nation is a stellar feat. Let's also remember that if all of Kansas' recruits were in the top 25 they'd all be gone in a year. We need some multi-year players who can develop to fill solid roles on the team. Paschal Chukwu, the Providence 7'2" center destined to transfer, was 61st in 2014. He'd look good in a Kansas uniform and could really help us out.
Also, Im wondering why Michael Cummings' career at Kansas would be over if his injury is season-ending. He could wear a medical redshirt and play next year.
Back to basketball, there has been a question floating around that no one from the kusports has answered despite its being asked several dozen times. Cheick Diallo and Svi Mykhailuk cannot attend at the WUGs, but can they practice with the team??? Inquiring minds want to know.
Torn meniscus? Man, Tom that's rough. The good news is that in the photo your golf swing resembled Charles Barkley's a little bit, so... But yeah. In all seriousness we wish you the best for recovery. They tried to make me go to rehab, I said, "No...no...NO!"
One complaint. We need more Sports Extras! Its hard to find news for sports in the summer, I grant you. But we readers need something to tide us over until we get back in the swing of it. The SE is great guys. Keep em coming!
As managers they can do some limited stuff at practice. They cannot practice. They can help out in drills, etc., like Scarecrow did last year.
Thank you Gary!

OMG...Torn Meniscus!! How did you do it...walking up some hill on the golf course? What doctor worked on you? Chris Barnthouse (/www.orthosportskansascity.com/cris-d-barnthouse-m-d/) is a Kansas guy who played for Ted Owens circa '73-'77. Hope you make the most of it and work on your short game, i.e. chipping and putting, for a few weeks.
