If Pierson lines up in the back field often this week and occupies attention from the OSU linebackers, that might work out better for KU than having him in the slot. You have to think that they're going to key on Pierson if he's in the back field, so it will leave more one-on-one situations for the other wide receivers. This is probably the time take the redshirt off at least one of the freshman WRs and to get Parmalee some looks if he's ready. It is not likely that OSU is going to use the nickel package against us unless we're 3rd and long all day. If we gain 5 yards on first down consistently, then 2nd down leaves the whole playbook open and we should not be predictable. I think after 5 games, we should be able to have an additional 20 or 30 plays/sets to run by now. We should also line up two running backs when Pierson is in, at least part of the time and run some counter plays with the Oline getting the chance to leverage the momentum of the defenders going the other direction, then run it against the grain. Receivers are going to have to be physical with their blocks, meaning not just getting someone's way, but engaging them and holding the block for 4 or 5 seconds. They can do that if they use their legs to keep leverage and when the running back passes them, go make another block on someone and get a few decleaters.

My Score Prediction: 48 - 17 OSU Impact Player: Nigel King

This could be a game that gets really ugly really quick. OSU is a great team and proved it against FSU. Our offense is in such a bad place that I'm not confident it will get much better. I would love Cummings to come in and finish the season strong, but we've all seen him play before and it wasn't exactly impressive. He's similiar in size to Russell Wilson, who is a great NFL QB, just doesn't have the skill set necessary to be successful. I like the idea of putting TP at RB but not exactly sure it will make a big enough difference to keep us in games. If we want to stay in this game we have to run the ball effectively and take some shots down field. Cummings may not have the accuracy but at least give him a shot to try and get the defenses respect. A couple deep ball completions and we will start to make them nervous. I'm not asking for a win, I'm asking for a good game, which as of late has been a lot to ask for.

Only problem I have with the in accuracy knock on Cummings is he threw to the same wr's Dayne and Jake threw to. With them it was dropped balls with him inaccurate. Let's be honest HCCW handcuffed him two yrs ago

I think this is a much more appropriate occasion for PDA...

Great episode. I lived in Jackson, Mississippi for a year and a half right after graduating from KU. Ol Miss and Miss St. football is what people live for down there.

Other conferences such as the Big 12 or Big 10 doesn't even register with those people. Doesn't surprise me seeing the make out session on the field after beating Bama. Even back in 2000-2002 when I was down there...they had lyric changes to the song "Sweet Home Alabama". Can't say it on these boards...but I'm sure you can figure out what those lyrics were.

Regarding A.J....he might be right about Bama and their leadership. I don't fault him for his opinion...as long as it's ACCURATE. If it's not accurate...then it's obnoxious. Kind of like some of these posters in here that were predicting a bowl season for KU football this year, and can't come out and admit that they were wrong. Now thats obnoxious :)
