Kansas State head men's basketball coach Frank Martin said he has never coached a team that had its "tail whooped in the the physical part of the game" like the Wildcats did in their loss to Kansas on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012 at Allen Fieldhouse.

Frank Martin has a very poor attitude and behavior! He's not a very good motivator for his team! Wow! His behavior stinks at games and he's a poor loser! Poor sprotsmanship and coachmanship!! Way to go Hawks and kudos to Bill Self!!!!

No, Frank is 100% correct. They do have a tough, scrappy team and closed to within 3pts, then again to 4pts. But they had about 10min of effective team play, compared to 30min of poor, lackluster play. Frank knows it and is correct. His comments are spot on, in my opinion. This will be a very tough return game in the Sherrontagon-o-gloom...Our guys will need to be as intense as they were in this win.

To quote Jacob Pullen (who hung out alot with Sherron Collins off the court, even hanging out in Lawrence and the KU campus): "the difference between Self and Martin is that Frank says a bit more of his "stuff" in public, while Self says most of the same stuff to his players in practice (private)". Recall Pullen also spent several weeks with the Morris Twins their last summer in college at a skills camp, and they hung out and talked alot at that time.

Ask anyone who has sat within earshot of the KU bench during a heated game--> that is big-boy ball, and the lockerroom language is not for the little old ladies or the faint of heart. I wouldnt have Bill Self any other way. He needs to be himself to be as effective as he is. Same applies to Frank. Same applied to Mangino. Obviously you saw the rebound-phenomenon which was bringing a softie like Turner Gill in here-->no results. Toughness and expectations must be repetetively drilled over and over by whatever professionally acceptable manner is deemed appropriate within coaching circles. And finally, the W/L record should provide proof-of-effectiveness. I think Bill Self's record, demeanor, and persona speak for him quite well. He does/says what it takes to win.

I have no problem with Frank Martin. Again, his comments were spot on. You probably didnt see him go nuclear, as purple problems began early and from many players, so what's the point. All he could do was shake his head. He knew they worked on specific things for 3 days in practice, yet his guys came out, were in shock&awe, and just forgot everything they worked on.
