I wouldn't trade Coach Self for any other coach! We did blow a great opportunity but there will be more and for that we are lucky! Let the haters make their "choke" jokes...none of them were placed in the center of the bracket and KU is time and time again. Win or lose, proud to be a Jayhawk. Proud of the guys, the school, and the dedicated fans. RCJH!!

Boy is HE ever a great great coach....He said it best when he mentioned playing for the highest of stakes.... Colts/Manning, Brady/N.E. / on and on and on...and all through out sports Men/boys/Woman/girls all can expect to feel a gut wrenching kick when they lose, and the higher the stakes the more it hurts... These kids exceeded every expectation, 35-3 is an amazing feat when you consider losing 3 kids off last years team..... And the MAN at the podium is beyond compare, he prepared this group to be a machine built to win and they did it well. But this day, preparing like every other just wasn't their day, hard to imagine, almost impossible to explain..... How can shots not fall, free throws become 3 point shots? It just happens, and Coach Self couldn't will them out of the funk on this day! I had to chuckle at the skermish before the Richmond game, juices must have been on high alert, lol....love it.....Have you ever been that juiced up in your opponents kitchen? Oh what a feeling, happens in football every game....fire and passion stoked to the maximum, like a ALL OUT WAR, a red hot poker Henry Steele, a WARRIOR going to battle.... Maybe that's why you don't see teams sharing locker rooms, or tunnels... Thanks for the great season, lets hope to see some of these guys stick around for another run, too bad the Morris guys got so damn good, good luck M&M Morris, you gave us lots of fun memories... 3.6 REED, dude you and your partner Morningstar made a lot of Kansans proud, amazing how darn good you boys played this year and last....Mario, you are a talented dude, you will be playing this game for many more years as a Pro.... Thanks Coach Self, keep the middle "C" in the center and you boys will be fine. Ask Wayne about that middle "C" note he is playing everyday. Remember if they were easy then all the great ones would have multiple rings, do you realize your next one will be the "Topper", you will get it soon, very soon. Call me a Bill Self Homer if you must, but I agree with mispay4ku. I couldn't be happier to have Bill Self as our coach, and I couldn't be prouder of our team. Great year guys. Can't wait to regroup and make another run at it next year.

If K.U. were not such a consistently dominant basketball powerhouse, there would be scant attention given to any failure to scale the mountain to the national championship. Coach Self leads a program that has built up an enviable record of success. Shortfalls are magnified and sorely felt. We should be thankful that year after year this personable coach and his able staff have maintained the banner of excellence that is K.U. basketball.

how can self say "we" other than the players do what they are asked and told, instructed whatever; the fact remains he is the leader of the team so responsibility lies with him. You lead the team into battle and take responsibility for your troops. Period! He was out coached its obvious. Thomas had six min. What? Just the previous game he had 12 pts and 14 boards in what 16 minutes. Come on Bill.

HEY EVERYONE REMEMBER COACH IS COACH FOR A REASON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I WILL TAKE MY HAWKS OVER ANY TEAMS OUT THERE. IT WAS A GREAT SEASON! I BELIEVE KANSAS WILL BE BACK IN FORCE NEXT SEASON AND AS A TEAM WILL GROW AND LEARN. GO HAWKS AND TRY AGAIN. AS A QOUTE FROM RECENT BATMAN MOVIES. A few idle suggestions:

- Play defense with arms in the air, not down by your waist. Makes it a little harder for a standard jump shot.
- Don't waste a posession by sprinting downcourt and attempting a poor percentage 3 pointer with 25 seconds left on the posession clock.
- Slow the game down when you are ahead, speed it up when you are behind.
- Strategic fouls when you are behind in the last few minutes of the game may be your friend.

(first 2 observations made after we lucked out in the second round game, last 2 obvious in hindsight - from previous year's games)

Man SeaBee, maybe we should give you Self's job! All these fan that are saying that KU let them down make me sad to be a fan. Self is the most winning coach to the most winning program since he has been here. What about Roy? He never even won a single championship and had years where we weren't even a top 25 team. Now, we are consistently a title contender. Wanting to get ride of Self is like saying you should get ride of coach K or a Bob Stoops. Selfish fans make me sick! Be a fan to take pride in your team/school. Sounds to me like you kind of fans are long term band wagon jumpers. You can't change teams because KU wins too much but are quick to hate on them when they loose a game. I will count the days until the start of next season. Heck of a run! RCJH!!!

Comparing Self to Stoops is appropriate. A championship and then a career increasingly defined by defeats. Comparing Self to Coack K is flat-out absurd homerism. Coach K won a NC with the freakin Plumlees. Self couldn't get one with the Morrises.
