It's another big file. We upload the big version first, then the smaller one. It's a frustrating process tonight. We sort of dropped the ball on method in trying to get it all to you faster, I think we made it slower. :-( Sorry about. Small version is very close.

Thanks Jon. We appreciate all the hard work!

thanks for the work anyways! i've worked with websites and the public before, it's understandable. people often don't see all the work that goes into it.

they just think it's all like Google...gimme gimme gimme now!

I want to sincerely thank the Journal World for posting Collins' Senior Day speech. For a KU fan in Baltimore, I can't tell you how meaningful it was. I got to shed some tears and experience it with all the Allen Fieldhouse fans at the same time. I really appreciate it guys. You made my night.

Thanks!

ditto that milwaukee. What an experience a senior night like that must be. This is what college basketball is all about and why we love it so much. You get to know these kids, their stories and personalities, strengths and weaknesses and most importantly get to watch what hard work can do in the course of four years. Sherron went from a insanely talented raw player to what he is today with hard work and the inputs of the whole KU program...and he knows that and obviously feels for his school the way it feels for him. Wonderful. Cole Aldrich is a lottery pick and there is absolutely no reason he should come back...but its almost painful to think that he won't get his own senior night. You can tell how much he would treasure it just by watching him watch Sherron's.

I can't get the video to work either, but I did listen to it on the Jayhawk Network last night. Great speech and obviously Sherron spoke from the heart. What a great second half for Sherron. And Coach Self, you are a "First Class coach." Thanks for making it all happen. Continued good luck with the season, Jayhawks! Go get the Tiggers!

Class, grace and dignity. That is KU basketball and no one epitomizes it more than Sir Sherron Collins. What a story, what a speech and what a man. My Jayhawk pride is swelling big time today. College hoops simply doesn't get better than what it is on Mr. Oread. Thank you KU, and thank you Sir Sherron Collins.

I've been thinking about that speech all season, and Sherron, you didn't disappoint.

On another note. I thought I heard some recruits would be in house. True?

I'm not gonna lie. My "allergies" are really acting up.... Seriously though, hopefully we have 10 more games to watch him and hopefully he makes another speech in April because I am NOT missing that one. Sherron may do stuff sometimes that makes us scratch our heads, we have always taken the bad with the good and boy has the good been GOOOOOD. Last year in Oklahoma when he took over? His breakout game freshmen year against Mizzou? His steal and 3 pointer in the championship?...There are too many memories to list for him. He has not only been here for four years but he has been a major part of the team all four years. He will go down most likely in the top 5 scorers in KU history. He is up there in assists. I haven't looked it up but I'm sure he is high up on the list in 3pointers. I think I speak for everyone in saying that the scrappy competitor with nerves of steel will always hold a special place in our hearts as Jayhawk fans. Hopefully I can make it back when he gets his jersey retired.

Here is my favorite Sherron memory. Last year near the end of a close game (I don't recall which) Sherron drove to the basket and was fouled hard in the uh how shall I say "the boys", He couldn't come out of the game until he shot his free throws. He stepped to the line grimacing and kinda rubbing the side if his leg since he couldn't rub where it really hurt. I told my wife there is no way he misses these shots because he couldn't think about them, only the pain he was feeling ''down there". Sure enough he swished them both. He was already a favorite in our house but that endeared him to us all the more. I always said the two guys that have ice water in their veins was Sherron and Tyrell. Any other favorite moments you guys want to share?

Thank you so much for posting the speech.

Two things I am reminded of after watching:

  1. I'm really going to miss watching Sherron play for the crimson and blue.

  2. What tears taste like.

Something about watching Sherron Collins cry just gets me all worked up. What guy. What a player. What a Jayhawk.

bbeckum 10 years, 9 months ago

I noticed that after his speech, when his teammates surrounded him, #4 was the shortest guy on the team. As a vertically challenged individual, I loved seeing that. Sherron, you'll always have a home at KU. RCJH!!!

Can someone slip this video to Josh Selby and his mom? Who WOULDN'T want to be a part of this family?

Long Live #4.

Thanks for the years Sherron. God Bless You.

Sherron was proud to be a Jayhawk, and us fans were proud of him as well. Sherron wouldn't let us die against Memphis, that will always stay in my mind. I know he will always be a great ambassador for the University.
