Goes by a little fast but very cool stuff. Would love to see a highlight video as well, or at least the one they play tonight. It was a pleasure to watch Sherron grow as a person and a player.

Dang, I think I've got something in my eye...

We'll miss you, Sherron, and your buddy Cole, too. Now go take care of them pesky Cats tonight!

ttoulouse: I agree. Goes by a little fast, but still an awesome video.

Jonathan Kealing 8 years, 3 months ago

The speed was an editorial choice. We could have made it go faster or slower, but we decided we didn't want it to be about any one picture, but rather about the whole series; the evolution of Sherron. In fact, this is almost our whole Sherron Colling archive. Not quite though.

At any rate, thanks for the feedback. Next time, we'll probably make each picture stay up a little longer.

Thanks for the memories Sherron!

Sure would be nice to see you hoist a few more trophies and hang one more banner in the Phog!!

The only thing faster than a Jayhawk is time!!

Trying not to weep openly in my cubicle. Sherron has given us his best for four years. You don't get that very often these days.

Those were great photos of Sherron! Thank you Sherron for a fantastic four years. You will be missed

That ragweed's terrible this time of year. Gotta go get some visine. Wont be the same without Sherron.

And can you feel the love tonight It is where we are It's enough for this wide-eyed wanderer That we got this far And can you feel the love tonight How it's laid to rest It's enough to make kings and vagabonds Believe the very best

Sherron, way to leave it all on the floor. Bring it home, Bull Dog!

Great pictures. Great music and editing. Soobawls an opinion too. (and I didn't like it)

Pictures do go a bit fast but I also didn't want to sit and watch it for 20 min either!!! Great job KUSports.

Matt Kenton 8 years, 3 months ago

My only suggestion is to add to it all the pictures from tonight, the rest of our season, postseason, and hopefully...

Great job, and thank you!!!

chaggs 8 years, 3 months ago

Suggestion. In addition to the flowers tonight...wouldn't it be cool to have an oversized novelty "Key to the Phog" to present to Sherron (and all future seniors). It would promote a home atmosphere and perhaps entice people to stay a bit longer in order to earn their key. Your thoughts? Would that break NCAA rules?

Firebirdguy31 8 years, 3 months ago

Yea, it needs to be slowed waaay down. Slow it down and re-release it. Who cares if it makes it 20 minutes long, I'll still watch it again. Totally awesome.

Nice... but agreed with above - slide show goes way to fast. And I have ADD...

Great work! Seems like alot has been made of his transition from inner city to college graduate so it would have been cool to start off with some rap music for the early photos.....a progression of music to match his progression through college.

phogged: at what point will you take the hint...GO AWAY..noone likes or cares about what you have to say troll

Alec White 8 years, 3 months ago

Agreed chaggs, that is an absolutely wonderful idea...someone get it done by tonight!!! Sherron needs a key to the Fieldhouse by tonight!!! Like I said in another post---Sherron might not crack an all-talent team in Kansas history, but he might have impacted our program in a positive way more than any other Jayhawk ever. I think he has helped recruiting in so many ways...I mean how can you look at Sherron and not want to come to Kansas to play for Bill Self. I have to stop myself I'm getting a little to emotional right now...

Ron Prichard 8 years, 3 months ago

Cool to see the evolution of the tats. Great work Jesse. Goes by a little quickly, but really, really cool. Sherron's intensity comes through in the photos. I can't wait for tonight. I'm sure I'll get a little misty eyed. Players like Sherron and traditions like tonight make me proud to be a Jayhawk.

Oh, can suck it, soobawls.

4jhawks4ku 8 years, 3 months ago

Soobawls and Phogged are posers. Prob get ignored at home so they have to invade a good web site and try to annoy people here. Never anything worthwhile or insight on anything. Just skip over any comments they make. Can you say? looooowwwsers. Good job Jesse and Jonathan. Enjoyed the video.

Good enough for now. I'm sure that took a lot of work. But when you have more time, you might want to call up Micah Brown. I'm sure he'd put something together for you.

"The speed was an editorial choice."

Wow, what a terrible choice. What's the point of a pictorial retrospective if you can't actually enjoy what you're looking at? You put a picture of the fans holding up "ain't no seats" that was so quick it made Huggy Bear's stint in Manhattan seem long. If you didn't already know what the picture was about, you'd have missed it and been clueless.

C'mon, you had to know this doesn't work visually. If I sound heated, it's because I was looking forward to reflecting on one of the greatest players ever to wear a Jayhawk uniform through his years. Instead I practically went into an epileptic seizure.

In any case, the sentiment is the same I guess. But if you do a season retrospective after we win it all in April, let each picture simmer a little bit so we can enjoy what we're looking at.

Rock Chalk, Jayhawk!

Beakem- I totally agree. After about 40 seconds I shut it off. I could see that Sherron was in every picture, but certainly couldn't focus on him. How about editing the speed now instead of in the future?

Studogg 8 years, 3 months ago

I wonder if they'll break out the red unis tonight.

pastyboyproductions 8 years, 3 months ago

hey dnvr and beakem and dc and everybody else who's eyes couldn't adjust to the sonic boom inducing speed of 600 snapshots coming at you in just over 7 minutes...did it cross your minds to just push pause for the images that you really wanted to focus on? i know, i know, it's fun to play guest editor every once in ahwile, but if those in charge had put, let's say, a 3 second delay on every photo in the stream, then this video goes viral at just over 30 minutes in length and nobody would have the time to watch the whole thing anyway...but sorry to hear about the bleeding eyes and epileptic seizures you fellas have obviously succumbed to as a result of the lightning quick pace of this tribute, hopefully your day can only get better from here...

Michael Auchard 8 years, 3 months ago

Cool, but I definitely could have done with half as many pictures and twice as long to look at them. Some great ones just flew by and I had to stop and go back to look at them. All in all, though, well done. I'm gonna miss this guy.

Darrel Stice 8 years, 3 months ago

Personally I'm glad it went so fast! If I would have had time to really look at each picture (and if there had been some sappy music), then I wouldn't have been able to see it thru the moist eyes (from the unusually high pollen count here in Denver)!

Sherron, it's been an absolute PLEASURE to watch you the last four years. Words cannot describe how much I have enjoyed your days. I've said on here before that I had the pleasure of meeting you at your very first Late Night and you were super nice and humble and soft-spoken, then you BLEW us away with your skills! You've represented KU with class and I can't imagine anyone being able to fill your shoes.

THANK YOU!! Now, go finish what you've started!! RCJHGKU!!!!

Speaking of a College Basketball person who will take part in his last game at his home arena tonight. This is from the AP:

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- While his Kentucky team was losing one battle to Tennessee, coach John Calipari was losing another to a clipboard.

Calipari was still sporting a bandage on his right hand Tuesday, an injury he said happened when he punched the board during a timeout in the first half of the No. 3 Wildcats' loss Saturday in Knoxville.

"The other one I used to just be able to tap and it would break," Calipari said. "Somebody gave me a clipboard. Because of my strength, I really dented it, but it didn't break."
