Good video spot, but isn't it just a bit early to call him a "freshman phenom"? I mean, I expect great things from the guy, but he's got alot of proving himself to do on the field.
they seen more of him than we have 02..... im willing to buy in....he certainly doesn't look like a freshman body.... now... if he has the foot speed ALSO....
The fact that the RB depth chart seems to be in place before the season starts is going to give the offense an advantage it didn't have last year. Last year KU had struggled to find the starter until Jake stepped up and took it. Then they started to roll a little.
Now with thunder following lightning, and the O-line given a chance to understand their running tendencies, expect something similar to 2007.
if this kid's athletic ability matches his maturity and wisdom (esp at his age!) he's going to be something special. i'd never seen him before. i'd read about him. his number in high school don't seem that impressive, but there's something that coaches see in him other than numbers, which makes me feel good about having him on the squad. let's hope he stays smart and is willing to learn from the guys that've been around.
this kid is the first proof i've paid attention to that makes me think we might be putting something together akin to an actual "program". when you can bring in smart and physically gifted kids like him, and they actually have someone ahead of them to learn from, you're getting there. it also reminds me that with a more dependable running game last year, we'd've been even better. sparky's been really amazing for this team, and hopefully opurum will help carry the banner.
when's the last time we had a "dangerous" running back? sure sharp can do his thing after sparky clears everyone from the box, and mcanderson was a workhorse, but when was the last time we had a "star" running back? a real big-12 back?

McAnderson and Sharp we're both real Big 12 backs, but if ya dont agree, Jon Cornish was the 2006 Big 12 Rushing Champion
