Wow, to not even test the market? I admire the two kids for really following their heart's desire to continue their college days and enjoy their youth before heading off to the grind of: NBA Life, European Ball, or the everyday workplace (take your pick). Enjoy college life while you can - you always want to go back.
I do hope both have a successful season-avoid any major (or minor) injuries that could reduce their stock-and heighten their value for their desire to improve their game through this decision. Man, I'm really happy both are returning with a passion to lead KU back to the championship!

"He had a goosebump" !!!! I have thousands of them and a smile that is hurting my jaw muscles.
On the serious side .. Great decision Cole the extra year will do wonders for your body strength and overall skills.
For Sherron the additional year can't hurt your chances in the future as you continue to develop better defensive skills.
Now quit reading and get to the gym and Thanks.

For a couple of you who replied to my other posts where I said I am concerned KU won't get either X or Stephenson, read the link below. I understand some of you thought I was an idiot, but there's a chance we blew it.

HighEliteMajor,
Why is something that a random blogger (Martin Manley? Should that name mean something to me?) posted at 3am any more persuasive or authoritative than the copious well-reasoned posts elsewhere on the web saying that we're going to get Henry?

I agree that getting Henry seems like a long shot from a "logical" perspective. If he can go to Kentucky, a program that has "rich tradition" and is on par with Kansas. I think this is about Calipari. The fact that HE is now at Kentucky takes away from the biggest adavantage that existed between the choice of Kansas and Memphis. That being Meph-who? What did he choose? He chose Memphis. Why? He didn't want to go to Kansas, obviously and Calipari. X is going not to KU but rather UK. To not do so just doesn't make sense.

If Henry is not coming to Kansas it's because he doesn't feel our team oriented offense and defense will suit his ego. He wants to go somewhere where he will just be able to play without the worry of a demanding fundamentals coaching style. Plus he knows his chances of his number ever hanging in the Phog being a "One and Done" are not likely. Obviously this young man is only interested in getting to the NBA asap if he is passing on the chance of being on a team with a great tradition and National Championship possibility means nothing. I personally like most of you are sick of the entire discussion and ready to see some Jayhawk Basketball.

Right. Xavier might just be toying with KU and never intended to come to Lawrence. And by playing these games of "Dad says X wants to come to KU," he can scare Stephenson away at the same time. Then X and Wall can jet to Kentucky and become the No. 1 09-10 favorite. Hope it is not true, but it would be another Calipari dirty trick!
I don't want to imagine a UK team with Wall, Xavier, Meeks, Cousins, Patterson, Orton etc.

UK can have em all! Fine by me and when Kentucky CHOKES to Kansas in the final 2 minutes of the 2009-10 Championship game off a Collins to Aldrich ally-oop dunk to go up by 1 with .5 left on the clock maybe then Calipari rethink his recruiting strategy!

JayhawkPurist: The article is just an example of reasoned thought. Nobody knows what's going to happen. Look, I'm not saying we'll definitely lose both. But when the prettiest girl dumps you and you find a nice replacement, you don't dump her when the prettiest girl winks at you. If X really wanted to come to KU, he would have in the first place. The saving grace may be that he won't be able to play with CJ at UK either. Stephenson was set and ready to go to KU .. we should have taken that commit and guaranteed him we'd pass on X.
I hope X proves me wrong.

I was hoping that Cole Aldrich and Sherron Collins were going to stay. I really like watching these two guys play basketball. Thank you for staying one more year.
