Lance sure did look horrible in the first half. I'm glad he settled down and started passing the ball more. He definitely is a good passer and both him and Henry can finish around the rim. Henry is definitely more athletic and is a better shooter, also looks quicker and seems like he would be a better defender. But Lance is a great passer and is probably a better rebounder also.

This video should have shown like the whole last 5 minutes of the game. Lance was blowin up at the end! And even though he's not coming to KU, how about Peyton Siva with that incredible 360 layup in the middle of the game? Wow that was pretty.

Watching that game last night made me really disappointed that we didn't get Snaer.

I really enjoyed watching both top recruits playing against each other, but I'm still worried about what's going on behind the scenes. Right now it seems as if the decision regarding Sir Lance A Lot was postponed because of the Jayhawks.
Is Bill Self putting him on ice while he speaks with Xavier? If both Cole and Sherron stay how would we (Jayhawks) be able to offer a scholarship? We don't have any scholarships to give.
Can someone please enlighten me?

Morningstar's father has already said he would pay Brady's tuition if it would help the team. We would still need to give up one more. Logical choices would be Tyrell or Releford. Both would pay in-state. Yes I know Travis' residence is in Missouri, but he graduated from a Kansas high school. So unless they've changed the policy he still gets in-state.
I'll tell you what though. The more I hear about Stephenson the less I want him. Not much work ethic. Tends to blame his teammates when he has a bad night. Worrying about which sponsors provide the uniforms, shoes, etc. for his high school team. This guy will not fit in at Kansas. Give me Xavier or John Wall instead. Xavier would be nice cause it's a two for one. His brother C.J. has stated he's going to follow Xavier. And the Yankees would be picking up his tuition so it wouldn't cost us a scholarship. He'd have to sit out a year, but it would give us more depth at PG after Sherron graduates. If we gto Wall you could play Sherron off the ball more.

agree with you jayhawkfan96 - looks like Xavier is much more of a team player than Lance, who could be destructive to the team concept HCBS is building

Whatever new recruits we land just be sure and not use any of UCONN agents to get them or make too many phone calls.
Like to avoid the death penalty or probation if possible...

X looks a little better, and more coachable. Lance seems to get frustrated easily. But Bill wouldn't recruit him if he didn't think he could handle him. Or if he didn't have a scholarship for him. I'm sure that will work out--wouldn't worry about it. Lance likes to go to the hole but doesn't seem to have the hops X does. Lance looks like a good passer and likes to make the good pass. He also took 3rd in the 3 pt. contest. Overall, I like X's athleticism better, but either would be a welcome addition.

Thanks for clearing that up Jayhawkfan96. Regardless of how this all plays out we will still compete as long as Bill Self is working his magic.

Bill is the expert and Lance is highly rated, but I think we are interested mainly because he is the best player left, if we don't get X. It would be stupid to not sign the best player available if he wants to play for you, and I'm sure Bill thinks he's coachable and will fit in, otherwise he wouldn't be interested.
I just hope if we do end up with Lance that he will prove to be a better player than he appears to me to be. I'm not impressed from all I've seen and read, I think he has bought into his "born ready" nickname and thinks he is better than he is.
It was an All star game with no defense being played so its hard to judge but the couple times he appeard to try to D up one guy blew right by him and X easily hit a 3 on him. None of the clips or the game last night showed me anything really impressive about him.
He's a solid player for sure and I like his competiveness, is he born ready? I'd say no. I bet Self would give Brady's defense minutes over Born Ready's offense. I'm sure Self can coach him up to be a good player for KU, but is Lance willing to ride some pine his freshman year till he's KU ready, Big XII ready, Big Dance ready ...?

Xavier looks significantly better than Lance. Xavier is fluid and efficient, and he plays within his skills and ability, which are considerable. Lance, on the other hand, always seems to force the issue. And a lot of what he does with his dribble is not legal. Ironically, Born Read needs a lot of work, while X-Man could probably make it at the next level right now.

We should be happy to get either X or Lance. We need a wing that can shoot and create their own shot. Period. Self will not bring in a kid that he thinks is bad for the team. Period. X does look better, no doubt. But I believe Bill Self would be happy to get either player at this juncture. Period.

Lance or X neither one will "ride the pine" for the year. Brady earned minutes and will get them and certainly D is critical but anyone who believes that Stephenson comes to KU to ride the pine should wake up from their 100 year nap.

Heard that Lance & family got upset after hearing rumors that KU may go with X & bro instead of him. This was on the radio earlier this afternoon around 6pm in KC. So, now, L is calling around Big12 teams like KSU & MU to see if they'd be interested so that he can play against the Henrys. The radio said that this was thru their sources at both schools. IF this is true and L really did do what the radio said, this type of character cannot fit with KU. Interesting development. This "Dead Period" prevents HCBS to contact either prospects to clarify things up. So... this is getting interesting every minute!

I definitely would prefer Xavier to Stephenson. Xavier looks tougher and more physical (he certainly is built), and yet can knock down from the outside. Stephenson's prima donna vibe is a bit of a turn off, and it seems to be coming out more and more.
If we do get Stephenson, I, of course, will be more than happy. But it would be absolutely fantastic if Henry slaps on the KU blue. Plus, I think there is an outside chance that Xavier could stay for a second year, similar to what Blake Griffin did. I think it's pretty clear that Lance Stephenson will be one and done regardless (barring injury). Xavier probably will be one and done as well, but his personality strikes me as a guy who could stick it out for a second year. And, who knows, maybe he would want a chance to play with his big brother.
Sherron dishing to Henry on the wing would simply be gorgeous to watch. And if Cole comes back, this would be one wicked-good basketball team.

A walk-on has to sit out a year if he transfers. The rules aren't based around scholarships. The rules are based on eligibility requirements for all students, not just those with scholarships.
At least, that's what the NCAA regs say, though they mention exceptions and I'm not sure what qualifies as an exception.

Texashawk unless Lance's d is alot better than it appears to be, I will bet he does not start for KU as a freshman nor will he be the 6 or 7th guy off the bench. If he signs then mark this post down and feel free to call me an idiot if I'm wrong. Anyone remember Sean Tunstell? Sp?

you are all idiots... especially if you listen to the highly MU KSU bias sports radio. Recruits read these pages , many statements could hurt recruiting as with kid that went to NM last year. his brother was on our site and was treated bad. few days later he announced for other school.... no big deal he was not Lance or X. we need these guys to top off great team , and quit stupid scholarship talk, Bill can count.
