Journal-World websites to require commenters to identify themselves

You have a great point. I was recently visiting Bali, and this website was blocked from view. Some foreign governments have a strict policy on what can be deemed as questionable content, and I am almost certain the ads you are talking about are what got KUSports blocked.

KU football shuffles offensive line once again

Had to look it up. Appears he may have played in one too many games:

14.2.4 Hardship Waiver: A student-athlete may be granted an additional year of competition by the conference or the Committee on Student-Athlete Reinstatement for reasons of “hardship.” Hardship is defined as an incapacity resulting from an injury or illness that has occurred under all of the following conditions: (Revised:
8/8/02, 11/1/07 effective 8/1/08)

c) In team sports, the injury or illness occurs when the student-athlete has not participated in more than **three** contests or dates of competition (whichever is applicable to that sport) or **30 percent** (*whichever number is greater*) of the institution’s scheduled or completed contests or dates of competition in his or her sport.

KU football shuffles offensive line once again

I wonder if there is any chance of getting a medical redshirt for Pierson. If he can’t play the next couple of games, we may be better holding off and getting another (possibly more promising) year for him.

Like others have stated on here, I will miss the colorful and insightful (sometimes *inciteful*!) thoughts many of you fellow posters provide each day. So too will I miss the troll eradications. It has been a great run the past ten years reading all the comments, the last 6½ of which I decided to join in the fun. I am afraid ahperse’s comment at the top of this thread is dead on.

Memorial Stadium attendance dipping but not as bad as reported last Saturday

Thanks for the update, Matt. Attendance looked a lot closer to 40K on TV than the reported 25K. You would think someone would have logically caught the error prior to moving forward with the incorrect figure. Oh well. To your point Matt, if the team doesn't start playing better, 25K per game is a strong possibility.

Opinion: 7-footer Embiid rare talent among Kansas big men

Ironically, if you access this website using Google's Chrome browser, I believe it blocks the surveys. Apple's Safari browser (utilized by the iPhone and iPad, etc) works great as well.
