Mangino's contract outlines probe
This is basically a witch hunt by the athletic dept., looking for anything and everything to force Mangino out. I would put it past Lew to have contacted former players and asking them to drum up their worst experiences. Lew better have something/someone better up his sleeve, because this process could be cause for HIS termination. How does expect to gain the trust of ANY coach if he treats them like this? I know Mangino is rough around the edges, but he's done things that no other coach in KU history has done. Gotta be willing to give him tons of credit for that.

Limited production
I hate the fact that the offensive play-calling shifts almost exclusively to the pass when we're down, even if it's 3-7. Plus, what ever happened to Reesing being under center for running plays, allowing the holes to develop a little more? It's almost like we've become too cocky and stuck-up offensively to adjust to something more effective during the game.
I agree NJ, at least Opurum has the physical attributes to overcome his lack of "knowledge and experience." It doesn't take much thought to run over someone!

KU football's final three games will be on ABC
For those of us on the coasts (and other non-central regions), you can stream the games on ESPN360. The feed isn't too bad either when hooked up to your LCD-TV. It's basically like standard-def. This is how I watched the TTU demise.

Wildcats fired up
I'm starting to wonder if our guys would have that heart-felt of a reaction to the defacing of a Jayhawk. Seems as though the same kind of "defacing" is happening on the field every Saturday. And we need to reach down, become a family and defend our own. Reesing has been the energy/motivator on this team, and he's down. Others need to step up and pick him up and slap him around a bit. I don't see that energy, with guys getting in each others' faces and saying "Let's Go!" We need a ferocity on this team soon!

Mangino shifts attention to offense
Well Klong, we better start acting like every game matters too. It still feels like there are a bunch of bandwagon fans that will only stay interested if the team is doing well. We need the rabid tenacity of loyal fans whenever and where ever the team leads us.
Am glad to see HCMM start to give equal time to each unit. Obviously the D needed but by now, the machine needs to be well oiled and balanced going into these last 4 win-able games (yes, even Texas).

Who is nation's "hottest" college basketball coach?
sanchez - I don't think the NCAA would hesitate to take away a title, and 2008 would have been interesting if that were the case. But you're basically saying that the NCAA "picked" KU by investigating Rose instead of Arthur?? Dumb.
And the issues in this off season weren't related to Self, it was dumb players making dumb decisions. Pitino's issues were HIM being dumb. Plus they happened a decade ago, so I doubt current players really could care less unless it affects his status at Louisville.

Back on track?
Why does it take a unit performing poorly to prompt making something at practice a "high priority?" I sick of hearing "well, that unit stunk last week so we're going to make it a high priority this week."
If the coaching staff is actually spending more time on one unit vs. another, won't that affect the other units? Why don't they just keep the intensity up during the whole practice so that maybe we can have a day where ALL units perform well?
Maybe this is the difference between the have and have-not programs.

Anyone going to be streaming this game today? Would appreciate it!

Kansas only half bad
You've got to ask the tough question - "Why oh why didn't you go for it on 4th and 2 at the end of the game, giving their offense a chance to win it against our crappy-playing defense?" THAT was almost the worst decision MM has ever made.
