KU running back Opurum out against Missouri
Cede the Mizzou game? Amazing what a losing streak can do to people. Half of our current fan base would slit their wrists if they had to sit through some games in the late eighties.

Reesing deserves courtesy
Daniel Thomas is dangerous. Valentine is dangerous. Gregory is not. He had 179 yards, 0 TD and 1 INT against OU. Three passing TD all year.
But to stay on point, I have no problem with Mangino pulling Reesing, nor does it bother me that he didn't explain why in detail to Reesing or the media. He's the man in charge and his method has helped this program win an Orange Bowl and put it in position to compete for Big 12 championships with far less talent than most Big 12 programs.
I almost wish Mangino was more like Leach or Bob Knight with the press.

Senior Little ponders sitting out this season
He didn't make Little play. Self said he could make an impact if he decided to play. This team had some issues at the time. He did help them get some wins, but obviously faded down the stretch.

No-trouble double: McDougald comfortable on defense, too
He wanted to play at Ohio State, but they pulled his offer because of a high school suspension.

Kansas Athletics to give $40 million to academic programs at KU
"Moving the track isn't nearly as much a matter of catching up with the CFB world as it is a matter of catching up with the T&F world. The track in the stadium and the relays were once a wonderful part of KU."
Moving the track the track is critical if KU hopes to continue the momentum for the football program. To bring more fans and more money you need to make stadiums modern. Covering up the East side with a press building is a step in the right direction. Track and Field hasn't been a wonderful part of KU since I was a student (the Dark Ages). If we're going to have an unsuccessful non-revenue sport, at least move it soon so the football atmosphere can improve.
As for constructive criticism, my ideas are no different than the plans set forth by the AD back last winter. They have a site planned out for the Olympic complex and an estimated cost.
I give plenty to the Williams Fund, and helped promote renovations of stadiums at two different universities. Don't lump me together with irrational whiners.

Kansas Athletics to give $40 million to academic programs at KU
As long as there is a track in Memorial, people will whine. I've been staring at it for decades and don't mind, but KU needs to catch up with the rest of the college football world soon.

Kansas Athletics to give $40 million to academic programs at KU
"We don't have to close off the stadium to have a large hostile environment. If we extend the North Bowl up and add seats where the track is now, you're looking at another 20k seats.
That leaves the south side open to the view. The Horseshoe works just fine for Ohio State..."
I suggest you look at a picture of Ohio Stadium again...

Cliff Notes version: Mark Mangino press conference, 9/1/09
"• Defensive line and offensive line have been about equal in practice. Neither has consistently dominated the other. "
Someone please spin this in a positive way. The DL should be far ahead.

KU football releases updated depth chart
number1 - they redshirt players in the depth chart all the time. Sometimes backup offensive linemen never see the field. It would be a waste if Spikes never left the field with injury. Besides, Wolfe would probably slide over if needed.

KU football releases updated depth chart
sdoyel - Greene was backup to Johnson before he got hurt last year. He couldn't release from a block to save his life.
Woods, like most JUCO transfers, may need a year to adjust. But his speed will be a real bonus on thirds downs.
Parish wasn't going to start when he was a DT, and it certainly won't happen now that he changed to offense a few weeks ago. A redshirt may be in order.
Crodie - Harris will be out there in a different formation.
