FINAL: Zaire Taylor's jumper lifts MU to 62-60 comeback victory
This game stings a bit. We rebounded the ball well, defensively we played fairly soundly. It's a little discouraging that Sherron missed those free throws, but he's the one that should be on that line. Mario's 16-17 footer was nice, nothing but the bottom of the net. I felt confident that after that shot, we would be headed to OT. I disagree with Morris' technical. It wasn't intentional, as it appears that he was looking up at the scoreboard. It did not affect the outcome of the game, but it something that I keep thinking about.

Gary Bedore’s Kansas basketball notebook
jayhawkinatl - do you really think that a 6'5" shooting guard wouldn't help? Sure, Morningstar, Reed and Releford are nice complimentary players, but that's what they are, complimentary. We need a player with legitimate 3 pt. range and dribble driving ability. Cheek would have been just that. One a side note, I watched Lance Stephenson last night of ESPN, he looked much bigger than any of his teammates. He couldn't make his free throws, but he definitely has a good frame. One and done...at this point I think we need it.

Keegan: Perkins versus Ainge
Don't want to rain on your parade Larry Keating, but the University of Florida arguably had one of the greatest season in NCAA history, having won the 2007 National Championship in Football and Men's Basketball.

Final Four floor heading to KU
I think the KU Athletic Department should keep the floor, and install it in the new practice facility. It would be a nice recruiting tool. Not that Michigan State is a heavenly place to play, but their court at the Breslin Center is from their 2000 Championship. Just a thought...a court for champions.

Self reflects on Illinois
I would like to think that the LJWorld would be on the ball and comment that Sean Sutton has resigned/fired from OSU.

Freshman class
I have a difficult time calling Bill Walker a Freshman considering he played 6 games last year before tearing his ACL.

Brace doesn't irk Rush
The hassle of camping huh? That is part of the experience of KU Basketball. You have your wireless internet at the fieldhouse, so you hop on your computer and do what you need to do.
When I camped out, it was a grind, but you brought your work, computer, what ever with you. Looks like the students need to get a little more organized with their camping groups and include more people.
You look at Duke and the Cameron Crazies...they camp out for every game, and it's on ESPN every year they play UNC...known as Krzyzewskiville. So don't tell me that it's too much of a hassle to camp in shifts for a couple hours a day for a huge game.
There were some underachieving teams with Chenowith, Bradford, Earl, but when that big time opponent was next on the schedule, the fieldhouse was packed the morning after that last home game to draw for the #1 camping spot.
...but I digress.

Commentary: Roughing it at the game
There are many moments at Allen Fieldhouse...in no particular order
1) Coming to KU as a freshman and being introduced to Late Night, my first time stepping foot inside AFH.
2) Playing Ohio State when we beat Scoonie Penn and Michael Redd.
3) Nick Collision's 23 pt & 24 rbs vs. Texas
4) Senior Day '03 - Eddie Sutton coming over to congratulate Kirk and Nick.
5) Mario Chalmers' floater in the lane vs. Oklahoma
6) Destroying Mizzou on ESPN on Big Monday back in '01-'02 (which is the loudest I have ever heard AFH's student section)
7) Unfortunately, Iowa State's Marcus Fizer turnaround fadeway over Chenowith for the win.
8) Wayne Simien vs. whoever while playing at home...especially Oklahoma State!
9) The greatest first half I have ever seen, although utimately losing the game to Arizona in '02-'03.
There are many more, but I digress.

Chalmers' late three caps huge day and knocks out USC for good, 59-55
What more can you ask of russ rob when reed and collins are out. His primary job was to lockdown mayo, and by my estimation he did a fairly decent job. Mayo got his points, but when it came down to it, the ball was not in his hands.
...and the Orange Bowl isn't such a bad pickup for not playing in the Fiesta Bowl!
