DLI likely won't pay $6,400 bill

WTF people. I cannot say I am willing to look-up past comments related to the parade to call people out, so this is more general and not specifically addressed to any one poster.

If I recall reading posts while the AD was still dealing with the post-Championship chaos and not willing to address a parade, many were PO'd that there was no definitive answer. Yet, the AD had a parade (although limited), and, as a result, cancels a previously scheduled event for the benefit of the Lawrence community (and Jayhawk fans more generally) and we can't pony up?

If all the complaining on these posts about the move of the MU game didn't irritate the Department enough, perhaps it will be the realization that we, as KU fans, can never be satisfied. We get our parade, but we don't want to pay the cost of the parade. This doesn't look good for future parades...

(ps, I would've been willing

Orange Bowl travel costs for KU: $2M

I agree that it would've been possible to set up CGD in the parking lot (much more crowded), then who loses their spots? Instead of complaining about Arrowhead, this board would be covered in posts with complaints about the loss of their "normal," or "special" spot.

Point of clarification: While I realize that game times are not choosen as soon as game locations, the point remains that we can't assume CGD would have gone to Memorial. Arrowhead provided a perfect gameday atmosphere.

As another post here pointed out, Perkins choose the Arrowhead site when KU was not expected to do as well as they did.

Additionally, ESPN/College Gameday choose to come here when KU was not expected to do so well. One of the contributing factors for the choice stems from the fact that the game was in KC. We can't assume that if it were at home that Gameday would've been there to "showcase the facilities."

On another point, mu fans do not like to spend money in Kansas, to the point that many stay in KC, MO and drive over for the game to avoid giving Lawrence or Kansas revenue.
