FINAL: Johnathan Wilson posts 133 receiving yards; Blue team takes 20-7 victory in KU Spring Game

Jesse, how natural does Pick look when he leaves the pocket? A straight uphill runner or does he run similar to TR and look to get to the extra yard before getting to the sideline?

I believe they will be using Steward as a hybrid TE or also called inside slot receiver. Just another new wrinkle to the spread offense. It sounds as if on the last series TR was making a conscious effort to throw to the 3 and 4 WR's.

Thanks, Jesse. I contacted Greene about it a little over a year ago by email and it was mostly the corporate friendly "we hear your concerns" kind of stuff that I expected. I posted a summary of the response on the message boards last year. He did mention the word "free site" then and that the LJW could not compete with a larger paper in terms of coverage that I get here in NW Arkansas because it was the Democrat Gazette (the state paper) of Arkansas. He also used the excuse of Mangino running a tight ship, but I know that information can and is obtained through different means. I do subscribe to Slant and get most of my information from there, but it would be wonderful to get the same kind of coverage that thousands of us rely on as the website of choice with KU coverage. Anyway, it seems as if Bedore keeps the basketball hungry fans kept up to date all season with different article on recruits and incoming players during down times.

Let me thank you for the way the paper has handled the coverage of the alleged incident outside of the towers. Nothing has been brought up insinuating what happened and it will be interesting when all the facts come out and everyone has a chance to tell their story.

Again, thank you for your response and I love the in spring game coverage.

Jesse, why is there so little coverage devoted to KU Football from the LJW? We all understand that Coach Mangino runs a TIGHT ship, but we have literally had 5 true football stories written since the beginning of Spring Ball. Yesterday Arnett had 10 keys to next season and all ten could of warranted a column to itself during the past month. As a true Jayhawk football fan that frequents this sight daily it is very discouraging. I live in Fayetteville, AR, and the media constantly complains how tight a ship Coach Petrino runs with his program and everyday there are a least 3-4 columns in both local newspapers devoted to the football program. Also, each paper has more then just one journalist dedicated to covering the football program. It seams as if the higher ups that control what is printed in the LJW regarding football have some sort of vendetta against Coach Mangino and the football team at KU. I realize that I am not a paying customer of Sunflower media, or the LJW, but I have bought Champion Belt Buckles, books and various apparel from the advertisers on the site, and I was a paying customer when I lived in Lawrence, so the "this is a free site" excuse runs old with me. Could you please elaborate on this, and offer a very frustrated Kansas Football Fan some sort of explanation to the best of you ability. I understand that you do not have a lot of control over this and probably can not really voice an opinion, but any sort of response would be great. Thanks in advance.

Signs of spring

You do realize that there could of been 10 different columns or stories written or devoted to each one of these items over the course of the last month, right? Anyway, thanks for all THREE articles that we were treated to during spring football. By the way, the local newspaper in the college town that I live in had 4 columns today alone on the football program and their spring game is next weekend, and the football coach runs as tight a ship here as Mangino and staff do there.

Border War renewal has less luster

Oops, you have to hate it when you write an article like this and then one of the greatest games in the rivalries history takes place. I really agree with 1187, Arnett should not be able to write any sort of article as it relates to the KU/Mizzou rivalry game. He made two huge mistakes this week printing the wrong record (the only school in the NCAA who recognized the Coan game as a victory) then follows it up with something like this. I do not wish any ill will towards anyone, but the substance that was reported this year by our new "beat writer" has been horrid! I really do miss Greene and Wood. It is too bad that LJW didn't try to keep both those guys around.

Finally his time

There is absolutely nothing wrong with what was asked by the football staff member (if it was true, and it very easily could of been). Rules are rules, and as a student I was asked to leave a mens basketball practice while observing during one afternoon by one of Coach Williams managers. If a coach doesn't want someone to watch, then they should be asked to leave, whether it is me, Scott Russell, or some other interested party.

The Sideline Report with Jake Sharp

Just your typical Salina guy, I guess. Great interview, it is fun to read player bio stuff like that in the media guides so I like reading interviews like this that do not have much to do with football.Keep up the great work and best of luck to Jake Sharp and the rest of the Jayhawks!

Jayhawks counting on Steward at tight end

I will take any KU Football information over none at all. I am enjoying the breakdown of the different schools in the Big 12. Great job new guy, keep bringing us information, because Stewards move was all just speculative talk until this article was written.
