Not-so-gentle reign
A little reminder about Joe Mortensen: the dude wanted to become a marine "so he could kill somebody". For him to say a word about this investigation speaks volumes.

Kansas neutralizes NU’s Suh
I was thinking towards the end of the game how few the opportunities were for the NU faithful to Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh. Unbelievable that it didn't help us win.

Title IX suit targets KU men’s athletics
Keep in mind the total number of varsity participants for each gender is skewed by the size of the football team. Men are much more deficient in KU athletics than the overall numbers show. As many have pointed out, how is having three varsity sports for men considered equal?
Those of you making this political are way off base. This has everything to do with men wanting to compete for their school on a varsity level, and nothing to do with ACORN (where did that even come from?), Obama, and everything else that you rail against on orders from Limbaugh and Hannity.

New facility electric
The most worn-out (and over-used) thesaurus in the world has to reside at Bill Mayer's place of work.

KU basketball player Chase Buford enters diversion agreement in July DUI case
strikewso, my thoughts exactly. These "legacy" kids sure don't seem to care about the reputation of their family names.

Dugan Arnett’s KU football notebook
Todd is staring down his receivers, plain and simple. Just watch the pick 6 from Saturday. He used to go through his progressions well and move his eyes before locking on to a target. Now, he's taking a step back and firing at pretty much the first receiver he sees. Some of this might have to do with his comfort in the pocket. Despite being heralded for being above expectations, maybe the O-line isn't giving him enough pocket time.
He will never be sacked a whole lot because he moves well, but when he is flushed he tends to throw on the run rather than setting his feet. Don't get me wrong, Todd can throw on the run better than I ever could flat-footed. It has significantly affected his accuracy, particularly the number of wide open receivers he has completely missed recently. I don't think anybody here will dispute that these things are happening, so why haven't Mangino and Co. addressed this?
P.S. The shovel pass, for whatever reason, really only worked when Meier was QB. Enough already.

Nine ex-Jayhawks in NBA
I'll do the Heat's job for them:
Carlos Arroyo's rookie stats - 1 start, 9 minutes per game, 3 PPG, 2.3 APG, 0.3 SPG.
Mario Chalmers' rookie stats - 82 starts (every game), 32 minutes per game, 10 PPG, 4.9 APG, 2 SPG.
Give the guy a break, he's not a 7 year vet like Arroyo. Should be no contest by the end of this year if Mario continues to develop. The ONLY advantage for Arroyo seems to be turnovers, though Mario pretty much counters his 2 TO average with steals.

Reesing stopped; KU falls
yates, I thought the same thing about the coaching in the second half. Horrible offensive playcalling. RUN THE BALL! It was working.
Talk about puffcake, the only team MU can lose to from here out is KU. As bad as they are, the final game might decide the North.
