/ Okla. St. vs Kansas
I didn't realize this was Memphis second time for such an offense. Sometimes the schools are not always at fault, but their reputation(?) certainly gets hurt.
Not having ever seen Royce play makes it difficult to comment on his ability. I guess the one item that concerned me was the question concerning his defensive skills since Self really wants quick, athletic players as defense wins games. We can never be great shooters all the time, but our defense can be consistent. Robinson was not our best shooter, but he sure was a star on defense. Hopefully Self can close on 3 of our remaining recruits who get universal approval from the gurus as being top 30 or better players.
I think KU is also getting an in home visit from 6'10 Payne out of Ohio. Some services have him in the top 30. Don't think Self is recruiting Ray as hard as he was earlier. Seems to be some question about following his dad to Detroit and whether or not it's worth the effort. The current list of prospects is very impressive as they all appear to be potential McDonalds. Most McDonalds eventually become difference makers during their college career. The key is to keep them at KU for at least 2/3 years. I would prefer a McDonalds who was lower rated, but decided to stay around KU for 3 years versus a top rated one and done.
I think Lamb had an impressive showing in the recent AAU season and convinced the coaches of his ability. With Knight,Lamb and Selby in Self's sights,if we get an outstanding set of guards then we should be positioned for the future with Withey, the twins and Robinson.
