Journal-World staff changes announced with upcoming ownership change

Absolute travesty to let Gary Bedore go. I will be coming to this site far less often. It is hard not to hope that the same thing happens to all who were responsible for letting Gary go. I pray that Gary ends up with an even better gig, and even one where we can all dump the LJW and switch over to wherever he ends up. So many years of great writing, Gary! You should be very proud of yourself. And the new ownership of LJW should be extremely ashamed of themselves.

KU signee Cliff Alexander in no rush to go pro

Dear Coach Self - you are the best, I definitely want you as KU Coach for Life. Please, please, please find us the best point guard available to sign for next year, be it junior college or wherever, and then continue to make it your highest priority each year that we have a succession of very good point guards. That is what it takes to go all the way. I am so thankful that we have you as our coach!

Self clarifies comments on NBA coaching possibility

Bill, I love you and would never trade you for anyone. I love you enough to be honest with you and tell you the truth - your original and clarifying comments were a mistake Bill, you have just made a very tough job twice as tough for your loyal, hardworking recruiters, and you will lose some top recruits because of this, as opposing recruiters will make sure that recruits understand that they cannot trust you to be there for sure. I would not trade you for anyone, but it us a little sad that you have the best dream job possible but still do not fully realize it. You have made that dream job tougher for you, your recruiters, the players, and fans, with your unwise comments.

Rio Adams might stay

Rio and Bill will make the right decision next week. It is hard to be a star in high school that has to pay your dues and wait your turn to be successful at the next level. But Travis and Jeff and many others have shown that KU is the place to do that. Bill can help you if you are truly a one and done guy, and can also give you the help you need to succeed at the next level if it takes you more time to develop and grow to get there.

A sour ending: KU collapses late in 87-85 overtime loss to Michigan

I love you seniors and Ben, you were fantastic! And Bill you are the greatest coach of all time and I never want you to leave, ever, and please take this with my utmost love and respect, and please learn from your mistake to become even better - this season was ruined because you made a very serious mistake thinking that EJ could be a dependable PG, I think he proved to even you last night that he cannot. Not his fault, he is a great 2 guard,he and us would all be much happier this morning if you had made him 6th man after the mid season meltdown and put it in Naadir's hands. Rock Chalk.

KU’s Elijah Johnson grows into Jayhawks’ clear leader

I have loved the Jayhawks since 1958 and always will, but let's be honest - EJ is very inconsistent, does not play good defense against a top driving PG (his Las Vegas counterpart Pierre Jackson single handedly broke us down with shots and feeds because EJ could not stay in front of him, which was the key to our loss). We can go all the way this year, I will be pulling for it and rooting for it big time, like always, but I hope that Naadir has been allowed to develop his game and is good enough for when we need him, and that Bill will make the switch when needed.

Finale four: Four KU seniors to say fieldhouse farewell

What a great group of seniors, what perseverance, what character, what heart. I hope they are rewarded with a victory and big send off tonight, a Big 12 title, and the national championship, to end up being among the greatest teams we ever had. This team has more talent than Danny and the Miracles, they are Ben and the Never Quits.

Opinion: Goodbye, Ben McLemore; hello, Andrew Wiggins?

Andrew - Ben has shown that you can be a humble team first player who feels comfortable and appreciated and loved without being driven crazy by the attention, plus be the #1 pick in the NBA. You have found just what you are looking for here. We hope you choose to join KU.

Perfect storm: Elijah Johnson buries ISU with 39 points

Sorry Bill and EJ, let me clean that egg off my face. Sorry for criticizing you both for sticking with EJ at the point, though it is very good to get Naadir in there often and let you go 2 guard as well. Having seen Wilt and Jo Jo play, and all the rest, this ranks right up there with the best half game performances of all time, by a Jayhawk or anyone. If EJ can bring this type of play more consistently, without this leading to bad play, he will be first round NBA and help us go all the way this year. Way to go you two, and Travis, Jeff, Kevin, Perry, Naadir. Ben, they picked you up this time. We have no problem with that kind of play, do not care whether it is you or EJ. Go Jayhawks!
