Kansas loses 2 grants

I hate this crap... Plain and simple - it's the STUDENTS responsibility to go to class. It's not the coaches resposibilty to make the student go to class. Nobody had to tell me to go to class. What's with these pampered athletes that they can't figure it out on their own? Punish the student for not being reponsible. Don't punish the coach for failing to act as that kid's mother.

Kansas 'didn't play mature' in first setback

TO STORM OR NOT TO STORM - I'm glad I was able to find the official courting storming rules as laid out be Pat Forde last year.

Having two National Championships, KU is not allowed to storm the court unless we defeat UCLA, Kentucky, Indiana, North Carolina or Duke on a last second shot (and I would add that those teams need to be ranked #1 at the time).

KSU as a "middle class" team, was allowed to storm under the "ending a period of extreme and elongated futility against an arch rival" principal.

Check out the full rules here: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/column...

I'm a Jayhawk, and I'm a Hokie

My wife and I graduated from KU... My brother and his wife graduated from VT... I can't wait for this game!

I owe it to my bro to post this link explaining what a Hokie is (it's not a castrated turkey): http://www.vt.edu/about/hokie.php

(Wish I could see the videos - my company blocks youtube!)

Reesing troubled to miss ZZ Top

hokiesports.com is the athletic depts site, check out the Roanoke Times instead (www.roanoke.com/sports/vtfootball). Not a lot there, but there is one article "Mixed emotions for Hokies", in which they say "Of course, they knew Kansas ... wasn't going to the big [championship] game".

Reesing troubled to miss ZZ Top

Headlines aside, I'm just glad to see a football article on the front page! Even if it's not really about football.

A Big 12 fiesta?

To everyone picking KU/OU in the Fiesta, who are the Rose and Orange bowls going to pick? KU, MU and Georgia will be the highest rated at-large candidates, and I don't see anyone picking KU ahead of MU (except Fiesta becuase no one wants MU-OU part 3). So I see MU and Georgia going to Rose and Orange (not sure of order) and KU getting left out (if OU wins).

Keegan: Shh! KU in hunt for title

Keegan hit the nail on the head... and then he ignored his own advice. Shhhhh!!!! The championship game is a LONG way away. We need to beat OK State first. Anyone remember what Bowman did to us last year? (13 catches, 300 yards, 4 touchdowns) This year's team is a lot better, but let's not look past probably the toughest team we've played so far.

Official defends 'nation's easiest schedule'

Yeah, our non-conference schedule sucks. But you can't blame KU. When the NCAA says that a 7-5 Sun Belt team is more deserving of a bowl than a 6-6 Big 12 team, what do you expect? Bowl games will generate far more interest in the program that any non-conference game in September.
