Monday Rewind - Texas Tech: KU O-Line in need of drastic improvement

Rebuilding is a process, that's whats happening on Saturdays. We've come a long way from Gill's product. Mangino had a couple of years but the program was headed down. His best year was with two of the better OCs/DCs, a gem of a quarterback, another savior quarterback that converted to one of the best wide recievers and playing a novel offense (spread) that the powers hadn't recruited for. We got the quarterback because nobody was recruiting him, a fluke. The program slid down with the departure of coaches, recruiting and lack of flukes. Charlie is building the program (will succeed) but having difficulties doing a four year job in two. Rock Chalk

Kansas football afflicted with dropsies

Disappointed but encouraged. I saw a defense that was much improved and still strong in the fourth quarter, special teams that looked damn good to me and an offense that appeared to have the ability to win at Rice. Offensive lines take time to gel and this one should improve with each game. The running game is sound and the passing game can be good with surer hands. CW/Campo have definitely turned the program in an upward direction. Feel for those of you still waiting for the elevator (it don't work), take the stairs and enjoy the progress.

Robbery case moves forward against former KU football player Chris Martin, other defendants

Where's the rest of the story. The police receive a complaint "some meanies stole my drugs and profit I made selling those drugs". Who would think a complaint would be filed? Was the confessor arrested? Did the police give the confessor his drugs and money? Are the police the enforcement arm of the local drug traders? Wow, confusion for me.

The biggest difference between Ben McLemore and Xavier Henry? Perception

Don't agree with the conclusion. While both played at a high level, the difference isn't "bout the same". At that level reality is how each effected the over all results. Self claims Ben is the best he's coached, predraft judgement is that Ben is a lock for the NBA and potentially a future all pro. Fair judgement requires more depth than individual stats, it is a team sport.

KU best team of 21st century? Also, videos of Wayne Selden, Joel Embiid from Jordan Brand Classic

Do the math, Wiggins is going to Wichita State and as his brother said "shock the world".

KU football lands juco cornerback

Don't understand the negativity. Charlie and staff promised few wins but a big improvement in the program the first year, they delivered. They also set "winning", sooner than later as an immediate goal. I believe they have identified the best option available - take the best players possible, start up that long road to winning and improve the caliber of high school recruits when possible. I'm excited with what I've seen to date and believe this season will be the start of a long progression of success. KU football is not for the faint of heart and will disappoint the perfectionists. Charlie is a great college coach and we get to watch him prove it, enjoy the process.

A sour ending: KU collapses late in 87-85 overtime loss to Michigan

One of the best winning percentages for 10 years, nine league championships, one national
championship and more than a hand full but less than a bushel of disappointments. It's great to be a hawk fan. Enjoyed every one of the last ten teams, looking forward to the next. EJ is just one of many players/stories and did well in his career. Bill Self has been excellent along with his staff. As a fan I have invested in the hawks but with no personal consequences. Time to man up, swallow the disappointment and celebrate the benefits of being a hawk fan.
P.S. The sun came up this morning

James Sims quietly becoming one of KU's best

The Verbal Fans (VF) are still behind the curve. We were 116th before this season. We have made major improvements. We were bottom 5 and playing a top 5 schedule. We aren't going to a bowl. One and seven ain't what we all want but it is what it is. Wake up idiots and enjoy the ride. Charlie promised and produced. Dave Campo must be embarrassed with your response. We have a "team". These players should have our respect, they've earned it. Shame on you SOBs for seeking personal attention for being "edgy" and finding fault. Our program was bottom 120 and we backed it up with a 150 fan base. We are better than this,

Déjà ewww! KU falls apart in 4th (again)

KU was what? 116 th best team last year, the fans 150th. This team has risen to the 80s and the fans to 130? Charlie needs to at least experiment. Mangino resisted replacing a "stud" QB with an undersized one. Crist has the talent but isn't a gamer - "practice star". I'm happy with the improvement and excited with direction we're going. Next year will be even better. Hell of a job Charlie in just 10 months.
