Loyalty..... to Words.

Preach it, Brother Sutton! It's funny how someone can say they "were not trying to make this political..." and then they do anyway. A world view that accepts whatever comes from the popularity contest that is the Democratic party and the liberal media will always be slanted against conservativism, even if it is in the context of a "sports story".

Self praises freshman Thomas’ attitude

Jaybate;I barely had time to read your posts; I can't imagine how much time it took to write them. But maybe this stuff just pours out of your head. Anyway, I appreciate your analysis in your regular posts, but this just goes to a whole 'nother level. I just enjoy watching the guys play, and get better as the season goes, and celebrate when they surpass expectations, and forgive them when they act like 18/19 year olds (who just happen to be very talented). Even last year's team, who everyone acknowledges was one of the best, lost some games. It's life, and that's the way the ball bounces. That's my analysis, anyway.

Are you still bitter?

Nebraska;Good column. I agree with you wholeheartedly, and I had similar feelings when Roy left, but his 05 Title and our 08 Title have pretty well erased any of those feelings. And the "sticker shock" episode certainly highlighted how Roy feels about Kansas. I can't imagine how he must feel, being such a huge part of two of the most historic and accomplished programs in the country. It would be totally understandable if any of us could be in his shoes, but no one else will probably ever have to deal with that. I don't know of any parallel in the college football world, or any other sport; maybe someone else does? Anyway, I regard Roy and NC as a "friendly rival", someone I would be happy to watch them succeed, as long as it is not against us. Like Turgeon at WSU/TexA&M, I wish him and his programs all the success, but only to the point where we are on the floor at the same time. Then, it's just competition, and I will always root for the 'Hawks.

Way to go, Hawks! The guys played a great game, and I loved the Reesing/Meier/Briscoe touchdown. Happy new year and God Bless the Hawks!
