'Cats talkative

I for one have always cheered KSU teams. The football team has over the years had several players from my hometown, the women's basketball team always has a lot of Kansas players, and simply, they're a Kansas team! I have had no problem at the thought that people would say "Kansas teams sure are dominating!" That all ended last year however when at the very moment they just got their butts whooped by Missouri, they joined Missouri players and fans in the "Beat KU" chant. Seriously - I was very disappointed. I realize I should have expected something on that level from them though. I have always said the in state "rivalry" has always meant more to KSU fans than to KU fans. Missouri. That's who I hate. And Merg 311 is totally correct. Last year a HUGE KSU fan told me a good KSU football season meant absolutely nothing if they couldn't beat KU. You know, on Saturday I said Hey, it's hard to feel bad about this game. Next year at this time they will not be able to say "We're BSC AND National Champions!!!" I don't see K-State EVER being able to say that!!! Rock Chalk Jayhawk!!

Now that was ugly

I agree - Bill Young was definitely our biggest loss from '07. I saw one HUGE problem Saturday. No one really gave a crap. Including a large percentage of the fans. I for one was still yelling when time ran out. The other thing unfortunately is that every team has one of those games. The other team couldn't possibly do anything wrong, and we couldn't fire on all cylinders no matter what. It happens. On a day like that, fate just isn't on our side. Yes. Our team has a lot of problems. The defense gives up. My solution was this: Sit the defense, put some new guys in with simple instruction: hurt somebody. Our offensive line couldn't block me for crying out loud. Reesing shouldn't be so hard on himself - he really needs more than .5 seconds to do something and it seems like that's about all he's getting. Don't wear red when you're playing the Red Raiders. :) Keep doing what's working until it doesn't work any more. Don't screw around with what works. And seriously. Please play every game like that game is the one thing you want most in this life.

KU will meet Texas Tech at 11 a.m. on ESPN or ESPN2

I had a lot of people ask me about the kick off chant. We're on the 20 and honestly, I never heard it down there. However, I didn't make a point to listen for it either. I was busy concentrating on the game and making my own noise that I totally forgot about it even though we heard Mangino's plea before the game.

After watching Chase Daniel pretty much have meltdowns twice now and make some mistakes out of character for him, I feel better about the MU game. He has shown that on any given day he can be very vulnerable. Our D will just need to keep the pressure on him. After the complete and total miserable experience at Arrowhead last year, we bought tickets again - and this time I am counting on being happy when I leave the place!!!

The Big 12 is really tough this year, but I think it was proven Saturday especially, that any team can win ... or lose on game day. The Big 12 North is there for the taking by the team that simply wants it the most.

KU will meet Texas Tech at 11 a.m. on ESPN or ESPN2

Driving about three hours, the 11 am games are a killer because we have to be on the road incredibly early, and the late games are a killer because it's 1 am before we get home. Can we PLEASE have a couple of mid-afternoon HOME games!! I will agree - some more bloody marys sound delicious. :o) Whatever the game time, it's always the best of times!

Receivers peeved Mangino

I was relieved to hear Coach talk about all these things last night. This game is just what we needed - we still have plenty of time to work out the problems and I have no doubt that our genius coach will find the solutions we need.

And call me crazy but I think coach actually looks like he has lost some weight.

I realize that it's "only" pot, and yes we've all done stupid things. But I really have a problem when someone has been given an incredible gift and they respond by being stupid and disrespectful. Risking this opportunity over something so ridiculous is extremely STUPID and disappointing.

KU football releases depth chart

Boomer - I guess we'll get our respect then because I predict we'll win 2 of those games you mentioned. No one wants to give KU football the respect it deserves because no one can stand the fact that KU can be dominant in both major sports. Seriously ... National Champions / Orange Bowl Champions. Don't you wish you were a Jayhawk too?!!

Meier relishing roles

I know I've said this before but I CAN'T wait to see Kerry play this year. He is going to be so much fun to watch. This is one of the reasons I love Mangino. I also love that he believes in putting the best athletes on the field for special teams. Not long ago a lot of people were ready to write him off, but I've always felt if we were patient we would get to see some great football. And we have. Only 17 more days.

Sounds like Mack Brown learned a little something from our Coach of the Year. He has a backup QB that they think is too good to sit on the bench so they're going to put him on the field in another position.
