Breakdown: Why KU's Wildcat formation didn't work against South Dakota

Dude! Don't beg. Not an admirable quality.

D-line coach: KU newcomer Bolton rusty, but star talent

Until Kansas can put 5 or 6 winning, bowl bound, seasons together they will never get the blue chip stock from the high school ranks. KU just doesn't have the football tradition that even K-State can point to, over the last 40 years. Even when Mangino was winning, he wasn't necessarily winning at the recruiting competition. I point to his last season as an example.

Comeback kids: A look at the top rallies in the Bill Self era

I honestly can't believe that the final border war, played in Allen Fieldhouse, did not make the list. Down 19 at one point, the final dagger of defeat was delivered by the Jayhawks. With no rematch in the forseeable future, MU must live with that final defeat indefinitely. How's that taste Tiger fans?

Opinion: Light fuse, get away: Ten KU athletes who will pack wallop

Hey, yeah, Keegan! Where's number 4? You know, 1 , 2, 3, "4"...?

Opinion: Teams will regret passing on McLemore

Not really. They don't dribble much in the NBA anymore and they rarely call traveling unless you pick up the ball at one end and run to the other for a slam dunk. Then, maybe.

KU basketball notebook: Self still saying no to KU-MU

MU made their own bed, let them lie in it. They have no rivalry to hang their season on any longer. They wanted to be a big fish and they wound up being a guppy. The SEC needed a football team they could use to pad their schedule with wins for the big boys like LSU, Florida, and 'Bama. As far as basketball, they'll always be an also ran in any league. MU can just "bite it"!

Juco coach: Darrian Miller versatile

I love hearing the great things about the offense but can this team stop anybody? If your defense spends the entire game on the field, it doesn't matter if you have the number one offense in the world. You're going to lose. Sorry to be Johnny Raincloud. I am looking forward to the season and some Big XII wins.

6-foot-10 Arkansas transfer Hunter Mickelson picks KU

An SEC school trying to impress with their basketball acumen is like a prostitute trying to impress with her chastity. LOL! Coach Anderson is a punk and should have let this player out of his commitment when he was an incoming freshman. He coached thugs at MU and the 40 minutes of pork smells like burned bacon at the end. Hahahahahahaha!

How Jake Heaps' big spring game was different from Dayne Crist's in 2012

The receivers will need to get separation from the first team defenders of our Big XII opponents or it will be deja vu all over again. We can't misunderestimate anyone.

Opinion: Jake Heaps instant upgrade

To answer the last, look at the numbers the offense put up. It won't matter how terrific our QB is if we can't keep the other team's offense off of the field. There's a lot to turning a program around and defense is huge. All of that being said, I think this team is far better than last year's.
