Dallas TV station to report Darrell Arthur allegedly may have benefited from academic improprieties in high school
I just saw the segment on WFAA here in Dallas. There looks to be some major improprieties to get Darrell through SOC HS. Very damaging report on him....45% in math that was changed to a 70% months later to pass him. KU was mentioned at the end of the report and the implications that this would have on the university. The reporter quoted NCAA regs that state if an ineligible player was used during the course of the season, any and all games can be forfeited by the university. That being said, it does not take into account that the NCAA Clearinghouse passed him to go onto college. The question is, who is accountable....NCAA, KU, SOC, Darrell Arthur, etc.BTW.....this report does not have anything to do with MU or any Big XII school bias against KU. This has been an on-going investigation into a very stout basketball program at South Oak Cliff that started months ago. They already lost the state championship that Darrell was part of. The principal has been canned, the coach will be gone shortly, DISD is scrambling, and on and on. I love the 'Hawks like everyone else from Kansas....just hate that they have been snagged in this web of deceit!I do not know how funky NCAA regs can get in regards to something like this. Common sense tells me that Coach Self and KU cannot be held liable for grades an athlete receives in high school, but......?!?
