KU AD Perkins meets with football players over concerns about coach Mark Mangino

I don't think Turner Gill would be the right choice only b/c of the players we have compared to the type of offense he wants to run. We are built to throw the ball down the field more than I think he would want to.

If Stoops leaves OU I think they go after Patterson. I would love to have him here but not sure that would happen.

I would also love us to go after Brian Kelly from Cincy.

Skip Holtz might be the right fit. He has ties to Lew from UConn and he's a good coach.

Backups pushing KU defense in new direction

But what is acceptable as far as how much our D improves? I'm selfish when it comes to D and I want our D to be one of the best in the country. I doubt we have the players to be a top 10 team in D right now but I think we have the players to be top 25 and I'm not sure we can do that with this current defensive coaching staff. I'm tired of seeing our corners covering WR 10+ yards off the ball.

Mangino stresses importance of field position

It says a lot when you get a recruiting class as highly touted as ours was this past year and only three players are going to play as true freshmen. At least three for now.

Youth movement

Dagger, my guess is Parish redshirts this year. He still has a redshirt year to use and there's no reason to play him at all this year since he will be learning a new position. Of course, I have no idea what's going on so it's just a guess.

Stadium renovations in exploratory phase

I would think that adding box suites to the east side would cause a lot of vision problems for people on the west side. I'm guessing the box suites will be covered with glass. Unless they install non glare glass then the sun on those early evening games is going to bounce off the glass and blind everyone on the west side. Or maybe not. Just a thought.

We do need to get that track out of there. I know it can't be done at this point but I sure hope they can do in the next five years.
